Emilia Clarke is looking back on her time in Game of Thrones as the fantasy series reaches 15 years since its original debut in 2011. During a recent interview with Access Hollywood at the premiere of her new series Ponies, the actress spoke about the friendships she still keeps from the HBO show.

Clarke became one of the biggest stars of the series after playing Daenerys Targaryen, also known as the Mother of Dragons, across all eight seasons of Game of Thrones. Her character rose from an exiled young princess to one of the most powerful figures in Westeros before the show ended in 2019.

During the interview, Access Hollywood mentioned her recent reunion with actor Iain Glen at Liverpool Comic Con and asked whether she still keeps in touch with other cast members from the series.

Clarke shared that she remains especially close with Kit Harington and Rose Leslie. She said, “I regularly do reunions with Kit and Rose.” She also added, “They’re my genuine friends.”

Kit Harington famously played Jon Snow in the series, while Rose Leslie portrayed Ygritte. On-screen, Jon and Ygritte had one of the show’s most popular romances during the earlier seasons. Their relationship began while Jon was undercover among the Wildlings north of the Wall, and their chemistry eventually became one of the emotional highlights of the story. The actors later married in real life in 2018 and now have two children together.

Clarke’s character Daenerys later became romantically involved with Jon Snow during the final seasons of the series. Their relationship became complicated after it was revealed that Jon was actually Aegon Targaryen, making him Daenerys’ nephew. The twist became one of the major storylines leading into the controversial final season.

Clarke also spoke warmly about Iain Glen, who played Ser Jorah Mormont in the series. Jorah served as Daenerys’ most loyal protector and advisor for much of the show. His devotion to her became a central part of his character arc, with many fans seeing him as one of the few people Daenerys truly trusted throughout her journey. Clarke said, “And I see Iain as much as I can. I love him.”
