Final ‘Masters of the Universe’ Trailer Is Packed With Explosive Action and Fan-Favorite Characters

The final trailer for Masters of the Universe has officially arrived, and it is giving fans their biggest look yet at the long-awaited He-Man reboot before it hits theaters on June 5. According to footage released by MGM Studios, the new trailer leans heavily into nostalgia while also showing off the movie’s massive action scenes and classic characters from the franchise.

The movie has already been one of the most talked-about reboots heading into the 2026 summer season. After spending years in development, Masters of the Universe is finally making its way to the big screen alongside other major franchise releases like The Mandalorian and Grogu and Supergirl. But unlike many modern reboots, this trailer makes it clear the filmmakers are focusing on reconnecting audiences with the original world of He-Man.

Instead of filling the trailer with critic reactions or premiere quotes, MGM decided to focus almost entirely on the characters and mythology fans remember from the classic animated series and toy line. The footage opens with Nicholas Galitzine’s Prince Adam reflecting on people from his past, treating many of the iconic heroes like old friends he hasn’t seen in years. That emotional angle seems to be a major part of the story.

The trailer also gives more screen time to several fan-favorite characters that longtime Masters of the Universe fans were hoping to see. Mekaneck, Ram-Man, and Fisto all appear in the footage, with each character showing off powers and abilities inspired directly by the original toys and cartoons. The movie appears to embrace the strange and colorful style of the franchise instead of trying to completely reinvent it.

At the same time, the trailer is packed with large-scale action scenes, fantasy battles, and visual effects that push the reboot firmly into blockbuster territory. Massive fights, glowing swords, explosions, and creatures from Eternia all make appearances throughout the footage.

The new trailer also highlights how much lore the movie is pulling from. Fans already knew the reboot would take a different approach to the classic story, but this latest footage suggests the filmmakers are still staying close to the spirit of the original property. The emotional connection Prince Adam has to the characters and world around him seems to be one of the film’s biggest themes.

While the movie is introducing many well-known characters, it is also clear there is still plenty left unexplored. Given how large the Masters of the Universe universe is, the film appears to be saving some characters and storylines for possible sequels. With MGM clearly positioning the movie as a major franchise starter, future installments could dig even deeper into the stranger corners of the He-Man mythology.

For now, though, the final trailer is giving fans exactly what many wanted, classic characters, huge action, and a heavy dose of nostalgia before Masters of the Universe finally arrives in theaters this summer.
