Paul Rudd Teases the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Ending
Paul Rudd has given fans a small tease about the ending of Avengers: Doomsday, but he still isn’t revealing any real details. In an interview shared by IndieWire, Rudd was asked directly how the film ends. He laughed at the question and made it clear he could not give away spoilers.
He said, “How does it end? Well… it’s a great question.” When pressed further, he admitted that he does know parts of what happens in the movie but still had to stay careful. He added, “I know lots of things that happen. I have filmed some things in it…” but stopped short of explaining anything specific.
The actor also reacted to the playful tone of the interview, where it felt like the question itself was more of a joke than a real attempt to get spoilers. He responded with humor, acknowledging the difficulty of answering without breaking Marvel’s strict secrecy rules. At one point he laughed again and pointed out that the interviewer was “doing a bit,” showing he understood the lighthearted setup.
Avengers: Doomsday is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO, with distribution by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. According to production details reported by Entertainment Weekly and Marvel coverage, the film is intended as a major crossover event featuring multiple hero groups from different universes.
The story brings together the Avengers, Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men as they face Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. It continues the multiverse storyline that has been building across recent Marvel projects.
The film is scheduled for release on December 18, and is expected to lead directly into Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Filming reportedly took place in 2025 across locations including Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom, as well as other international sets.
Rudd returns as Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man, a character who has been part of the MCU since Ant-Man in 2015. His role in Doomsday places him alongside a massive ensemble cast, including returning Avengers like Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, and other major Marvel characters from both the main MCU timeline and alternate universes.
While fans are eager for plot details, Marvel actors continue to keep story information tightly sealed. Rudd’s comments reflect a common pattern in MCU interviews, where cast members are allowed to confirm involvement but avoid revealing narrative outcomes.
Even though he didn’t give any spoilers, his brief reaction still added to the excitement around the film. His amused refusal to answer the ending question only fuels curiosity about how the massive crossover story will conclude.
For now, the ending of Avengers: Doomsday remains a mystery, and Marvel fans will have to wait until December to find out what really happens.
