Camila Mendes Brings Sultry Edge to ‘Masters of the Universe’ Press Appearance
Camila Mendes appeared at Masters of the Universe press events in a clean, minimalist look that quickly stood out for its sharp styling and modern design. The actress, who plays Teela in the upcoming fantasy film, leaned into a simple but striking fashion moment that matched the film’s bold visual world.
Her outfit was a fitted white mini dress with a structured, body-hugging silhouette that ended mid-thigh. The dress featured a distinctive asymmetrical neckline, with a wide strap on one shoulder and a thinner, buckle-style strap on the other. That second strap hung loosely, adding an unexpected edge to the otherwise clean design.
The bodice included subtle horizontal ruching across the torso, giving the dress texture while keeping the overall look smooth and tailored. The styling stayed consistent with a minimalist direction, focusing on shape and detail rather than heavy embellishment.
She paired the dress with matching white pointed-toe slingback heels with a low, delicate heel. The shoes kept the monochrome look uninterrupted and added to the polished feel of the outfit.
Accessories were kept very minimal. Mendes wore a small silver cuff bracelet on one wrist and subtle silver earrings. The metallic accents added just enough contrast without taking attention away from the dress.
Her appearance comes as part of the promotional rollout for Masters of the Universe, the upcoming fantasy film based on the classic Mattel franchise. According to production details shared by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Releasing International, the film is scheduled for release on June 5.
The movie is directed by Travis Knight and follows Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, as he returns to Eternia after years away from his home planet. There, he discovers that Skeletor, played by Jared Leto, has taken control. Adam must then accept his destiny as He-Man and fight to save Eternia.
Camila Mendes plays Teela, the captain of the guard and one of Adam’s closest allies. Her character is also deeply connected to the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, played by Morena Baccarin, and serves as a key figure in the fight against Skeletor’s forces.
The cast also includes Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, James Purefoy as King Randor, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto, along with a large ensemble of supporting characters from the He-Man universe.
The project has been in development for years, with several changes in studio and cast before landing at Amazon MGM Studios. Earlier versions of the film were developed at Sony Pictures and Netflix before the current production came together, with principal photography taking place in London in 2025.
Mendes’ press appearance continues the promotional push ahead of the film’s release, and her clean, structured fashion look has become one of the more discussed red carpet moments tied to the movie so far.
