Hulu’s 2026 Lineup Shakeup: 1 Show Canceled, 3 Renewed, and 1 Officially Over—Is Your Favorite Safe?
Hulu’s 2026 TV lineup has seen a mix of good news and disappointing changes, with several major renewals, a few cancellations, and at least one long-running series reaching its end.
According to updates shared by Hulu and production announcements reported across the industry, the streaming platform has continued to adjust its slate as it moves through 2026. Some shows are expanding their stories, while others are wrapping up or being dropped entirely.
One of the biggest renewals so far is The Testaments, which has officially been renewed for a second season. The renewal was confirmed on May 20, 2026. The series continues as a follow-up to The Handmaid’s Tale and is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name. It focuses on life inside Gilead and follows two young girls, Agnes and Daisy, as they grow up in a strict and controlled environment shaped by Aunt Lydia’s school for future wives. Their connection becomes central to the story as they begin to question everything around them and slowly push against the system they were raised in.

Another major update comes from the series Paradise, which has been renewed for Season 3. The renewal was announced on March 17, 2026. The show is set in an exclusive and wealthy community filled with powerful figures from around the world. The calm surface of this community is broken when a serious murder takes place, leading to a complex investigation that exposes secrets beneath the surface.

Not all updates have been positive. Hulu also confirmed the cancellation of a planned Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. The announcement came on March 14, 2026, and was shared publicly by Sarah Michelle Gellar. The reboot had been in early development with writers Nora and Lila Zuckerman attached, along with director Chloé Zhao. The project was intended to continue the Buffy universe with a new story, but it will no longer move forward.
The cancellation comes after years of interest in expanding the Buffy franchise, which first began as a 1992 film before becoming a long-running television series in 1997. The planned reboot was expected to introduce a new chapter in that universe, but Hulu ultimately decided not to continue with the project.
Hulu also confirmed that Tell Me Lies has officially ended. The third season aired from January to February 2026, and the finale marked the conclusion of the series. The show is now fully available to stream on the platform. The ending was announced shortly before the final episode aired, confirming that the story would not continue beyond season three.

On the brighter side, Shoresy, the spinoff of Letterkenny, has been renewed for Season 6. The renewal was announced on January 22, 2026. The series continues to follow Shoresy and the Bulldogs as they work to keep their place in competitive hockey. The show remains one of Hulu’s consistent performers in the comedy lineup.

Overall, Hulu’s 2026 updates show a platform balancing expansion and endings at the same time. Some shows are growing into new seasons, while others are concluding or being discontinued, reflecting a shifting strategy in its original programming slate.
