Nicholas Galitzine and Camila Mendes Lead Fun On-Set Dance Moment in ‘Masters of the Universe’
A new behind-the-scenes video from the set of Masters of the Universe has given fans a lighter look at the cast during filming. The clip, shared via Camila Mendes’ TikTok account, shows the actors dancing together to the song “What’s Up” while on set.
The video features Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, Idris Elba, and other cast members enjoying a break between filming scenes. Instead of the intense action and fantasy setting seen in the movie, the clip shows a relaxed moment where the cast is clearly having fun together.

The film itself, Masters of the Universe, is a live-action adaptation of the classic Mattel franchise. It is directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and David Callaham. The story follows Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, as he returns to the planet Eternia and discovers it has fallen under the control of Skeletor. He then embraces his destiny as He-Man to try to save his world.
Alongside Galitzine, the film features a large cast including Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, Idris Elba, Kristen Wiig, Morena Baccarin, James Purefoy, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and others. Mendes plays Teela, one of Adam’s key allies in the fight against Skeletor.
The movie is the second live-action adaptation of the franchise after the 1987 film. The project went through a long development process over many years, with changes in studios and production teams before finally moving forward under Amazon MGM Studios. Filming took place in London between January and June 2025.
The film held its premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre on May 18, and is scheduled for theatrical release on June 5 in the United States. International distribution is handled by Sony Pictures Releasing International. Early reactions to the film have been mixed to positive, according to initial critical responses.
The original franchise follows Prince Adam as he transforms into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, to defend Eternia from evil forces led by Skeletor. In this new adaptation, the story begins after Adam has been separated from his home for many years and must reconnect with his identity and responsibility as He-Man.
