New ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3 Promo Teases Daemon’s Fierce Loyalty to Rhaenyra
The war for the Iron Throne is about to get even more intense.
A brand-new promotional clip for House of the Dragon Season 3 has been released, giving fans another look at the growing conflict between the Blacks and the Greens. The short teaser features one of the most loyal and dangerous figures in Rhaenyra Targaryen’s corner, Daemon Targaryen, making a powerful statement about the future of Westeros.
In the promo, Daemon declares, “No one will rule but Rhaenyra, and none will stand against us.” The line leaves little doubt about where his loyalty stands as the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons continues to tear the Seven Kingdoms apart.
The latest footage arrives just weeks before the highly anticipated third season premieres on HBO. Following the explosive events of Season 2, viewers are expecting larger battles, bigger dragon confrontations, and even more political betrayals as both sides fight for control of the realm.
House of the Dragon is based on George R. R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood and serves as a prequel to Game of Thrones. The series explores the rise and fall of House Targaryen nearly 200 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.
Season 3 is expected to adapt some of the most important and destructive chapters of the Dance of the Dragons. The conflict between Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and King Aegon II has already claimed countless lives, and the war is only beginning to escalate.
Returning cast members include Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen. Other familiar faces coming back for the new season include Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II Targaryen, Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.
The new season will also introduce several important characters from Fire & Blood. Among the most notable additions is Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Daeron Targaryen, a character many book readers have been waiting to see appear on screen. James Norton has also joined the cast as Ormund Hightower, while Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Tom Cullen, Joplin Sibtain, Barry Sloane, and Annie Shapero are set to make their debuts this season.

Production on Season 3 took place between March and October 2025. Ryan Condal continues as the show’s sole showrunner and has previously teased that the new season will feature some of the largest battles seen in the series so far.
The upcoming season will consist of eight episodes, matching the episode count of Season 2. HBO has already renewed the fantasy drama for a fourth season, confirming that the story will continue beyond the events of Season 3.
For now, the latest promo serves as another reminder that Daemon remains fully committed to Rhaenyra’s claim. As the dragons prepare for war and alliances continue to shift, one thing is clear: neither side is backing down.
House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres on HBO on June 21.
