Netflix Fan-Favorite Show Is Ending After Season 3
Netflix’s detective mystery series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is officially coming to an end after its third season, even though the show was initially renewed for more episodes. The news was confirmed by Netflix and reported alongside comments from author Holly Jackson, who also serves as writer and executive producer on the series.
The show, which first gained attention after its second season released earlier this year, follows the story of Pip Fitz-Amobi, played by Emma Myers, as she investigates dark crimes in the fictional town of Little Kilton. It is based on the bestselling book series by Holly Jackson.
Even though Season 3 will be the final chapter, the story is already fully planned. Jackson shared her thoughts on bringing the series to a close and explained how the final season will adapt the last book in the trilogy, As Good as Dead. She said, “I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion. As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.”
Her comments make it clear that the final season will be much darker than what fans have seen before. Pip’s story will take a more intense direction as she faces a dangerous situation that pushes her further than any previous case.
Netflix has also confirmed that Season 3 has already finished filming. The release is planned for 2027. Unlike the previous season, which had six episodes, the final season will be shorter and will include only four episodes. The decision suggests a tighter and more focused conclusion to Pip’s story.
Emma Myers also spoke about the end of the series and her experience playing Pip. She said, “I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder. Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

The series is produced by Moonage Pictures along with BBC involvement and several executive producers, including Holly Jackson herself. Emma Myers leads the cast alongside Zain Iqbal, Henry Ashton, Asha Banks, Jude Morgan-Collie, Eden H Davies, and Yali Topol Margalith.
Season 2 followed Pip as she tried to move on after solving a major case, but she was pulled back into another mystery when a new disappearance changed everything. That storyline set up the darker tone that will continue into the final season.
With filming already complete and a clear story conclusion in place, Season 3 will bring Pip’s journey to an end when it arrives on Netflix in 2027.
