‘My Adventures With Superman’ Season 3 Breaks Records As Rotten Tomatoes Score Is Revealed

Share:

My Adventures with Superman is about to return for its third season, and early reviews suggest the animated series is showing no signs of slowing down.

Ahead of the new season’s premiere, critics have shared their first reactions, and the show has debuted with a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The score is based on the first wave of reviews and continues an impressive streak for the Adult Swim series. While many shows struggle to maintain critical acclaim as they continue, My Adventures with Superman has managed to keep critics on its side through all three seasons. That achievement is especially notable because maintaining a perfect score becomes much harder as more episodes are released and more critics weigh in.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, every published review for Season 3 has been positive so far. Critics have praised the series for its animation, storytelling, action sequences, and fresh approach to Superman mythology.

Andres Cabrera from Geeks of Color was particularly impressed by the new season, writing, “The DC Universe has something truly special with this series. It is quickly becoming a generation-defining classic that should be considered among the great DC animated projects.” He awarded the season a score of 9 out of 10.

Julian Lytle of RIOTUS also praised the latest episodes and called it his favorite season yet. He wrote, “My Adventures with Superman, season 3, is my favorite season of the show. I know a lot about the DC universe in its many interpretations, and seeing this show and feeling surprised by how they work with these characters in such a new way is refreshing.”

Season 3 takes inspiration from one of the most famous Superman stories ever published: The Death of Superman and its follow-up storyline, Reign of the Supermen. However, the show is not attempting a direct adaptation. Instead, it uses familiar characters and concepts while reshaping them to fit the world that the series has already established.

That creative choice has become one of the show’s biggest strengths. Longtime comic readers will recognize many of the characters and ideas being introduced, but the story still manages to surprise viewers by taking those elements in unexpected directions.

One of the biggest additions this season is Cyborg Superman, who is revealed to be Hank Henshaw, voiced by Max Mittelman. The character’s resentment toward aliens grows after the events of Season 2, setting him on a dangerous path. His arrival also leads to the introduction of Superboy, voiced by Darren Criss. The series borrows aspects of several different comic book versions of Superboy while creating its own unique interpretation.

The new season is expected to feature even more characters connected to Superman’s legacy before the story reaches its conclusion. Fans familiar with the comics may recognize where some of these ideas come from, but the show continues to put its own spin on everything.

Beyond the positive reviews, Season 3 is also making history. With another perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, My Adventures with Superman has now achieved something very few television series have managed to accomplish.

The series has entered what many fans call the “perfect hat-trick” club, meaning three consecutive seasons have earned a flawless 100% critics score. This is an extremely rare achievement. As television shows become more popular, they usually attract more reviews, which increases the chances of receiving at least one negative score. Maintaining perfection across multiple seasons is incredibly difficult.

Only a handful of acclaimed shows have managed similar streaks, making My Adventures with Superman part of a very exclusive group.

The accomplishment is even more impressive when viewed through the lens of DC animation. DC has produced some of the most beloved animated projects in television history, including Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, and Young Justice. While those series remain fan favorites, few have maintained a flawless critical score across multiple seasons.

Even more recent successes have eventually seen slight dips in their ratings. Harley Quinn, for example, enjoyed perfect scores early in its run before later seasons settled into the high-90% range.

That makes My Adventures with Superman a standout success story. It is not only winning over longtime Superman fans but also attracting viewers who enjoy anime-inspired action, character-driven storytelling, and modern interpretations of classic heroes.

With its third season about to begin, the series finds itself in a remarkable position. Critics are calling it one of the best animated superhero shows currently on television, and its perfect Rotten Tomatoes record suggests the creative team is continuing to deliver exactly what audiences have come to expect.

For DC fans, Season 3 is shaping up to be another major win. For the series itself, it is already making history before the first episode has even aired.
