Adria Arjona Won’t Reveal Her ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Role, but Her Grueling Training Routine Speaks for Itself
James Gunn’s DCU has built plenty of buzz through carefully controlled casting reveals, and few mysteries have generated quite as much speculation as Adria Arjona’s still-unconfirmed role in ‘Man of Tomorrow.’ The actress landed the part back in April following a competitive screen-testing process that also included Eva De Dominici, Sydney Chandler, and Grace Van Patten, yet DC Studios has kept her character’s identity firmly under wraps ever since.
That secrecy hasn’t stopped fans from theorizing, with most reports pointing toward Arjona playing Maxima, the alien warrior queen from the planet Almerac known in the comics for her complicated, shifting alliance with Superman. Others continue to hold out hope that she’s secretly landed the role of Wonder Woman instead, a theory that’s only grown louder as new details about her preparation for the role have trickled out.
Arjona addressed the ongoing mystery directly, confirming she still can’t reveal exactly who she’s playing, but she did offer fans a detailed look at just how demanding her physical preparation has been. “I have muscles that I’ve never had in my life. I’m training two to three hours a day on a crazy diet. Drinking coffee is the only thing that keeps me up. And I’m really excited!” Arjona told ScreenRant.
That level of commitment lines up with what fans have already been seeing play out on social media for months. Trainer Paolo Mascitti, who also helped prepare David Corenswet for his role as Superman, has been working with Arjona throughout production and regularly sharing glimpses of her progress, including workout clips set to Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” that first surfaced back in the spring.
Those training photos have only intensified fan debate over her character, with each new image of Arjona’s increasingly defined physique sparking fresh rounds of speculation online. Whether she’s preparing to embody Maxima’s warrior strength or something else entirely, the sheer intensity of her regimen suggests Gunn’s team is treating the role as a genuinely physical one.

‘Man of Tomorrow’ has assembled a massive ensemble around Arjona’s mystery character, with David Corenswet returning as Superman alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film also introduces Lars Eidinger as Brainiac in his feature film debut, with Superman and Luthor reportedly setting aside their rivalry to team up against the cosmic threat.

Production has been unfolding across multiple locations, including Trilith Studios in Atlanta, parts of the United Kingdom, and Cincinnati, Ohio, giving the film a genuinely sprawling shoot befitting its expanding cast list. That roster also includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, among several other DCU regulars making appearances.
With filming now wrapped and Arjona’s transformation continuing to generate headlines on its own, fans are likely to keep dissecting every workout clip and training update for clues until Gunn finally decides to lift the curtain on her character. For now, her dedication in the gym remains one of the most talked-about aspects of the film’s ongoing production buzz.
