Fans Just Found Lucia’s Real ‘GTA 6’ Apartment Building

Rockstar Games has built its reputation on crafting worlds that feel almost eerily authentic, and few franchises inspire quite the same level of obsessive real-world detective work as ‘Grand Theft Auto.’ With every trailer drop, fans have made a sport out of tracking down the exact locations that inspired the game’s fictional cityscapes.

That tradition has continued in a major way ahead of ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’s’ release, with players combing through Miami’s actual streets in search of buildings that match what’s shown in the game. Given that the franchise’s Vice City has always drawn heavily from South Florida’s real architecture and skyline, these comparisons have become something of a beloved ritual within the fan community.

The latest discovery might be the most striking yet. Lucia’s in-game apartment complex has reportedly been identified as the real-life Belmar Condominium in Miami, Florida, with fans noting that the building was demolished back in 2022, despite appearing virtually identical to its digital recreation in ‘GTA VI,’ right down to the near-exact replica of the building located across the street.

According to reporting on the discovery, the Belmar was purchased for $12 million in 2022 as part of a deal involving every unit in the condominium complex. The plan at the time called for demolishing the structure to make way for Vela, a planned $300 million, 55-story tower.

That ambitious redevelopment project ultimately hit significant obstacles related to zoning approval, with the application eventually withdrawn in 2023 and the project remaining stalled ever since. As of this year, the original lot where the Belmar once stood remains empty, even as the 1970s-era building itself continues to exist digitally within Vice City’s recreated skyline.

This isn’t the first time players have identified real Miami landmarks embedded within ‘GTA VI’s’ world. Fans have also pointed to what appears to be a hidden reference to Dexter Morgan’s apartment complex from the Showtime series hidden somewhere within the game’s map, though that particular connection has yet to be officially confirmed by Rockstar.

Beyond individual buildings, previous leaks and comparisons have identified several other real Miami structures seemingly recreated within the game, including well-known local landmarks along the city’s bay-facing skyline. That level of specificity has only fueled fan theories about just how many other real-world locations might be hiding in plain sight throughout the game’s massive open world.

Discoveries like the Belmar Condominium highlight just how deeply Rockstar’s design team appears to have researched Miami’s actual urban landscape while building out Vice City’s fictional counterpart. For a game already generating unprecedented levels of anticipation, these kinds of real-world parallels only deepen the sense of authenticity fans have come to expect from the franchise.

There’s also something quietly poignant about a now-demolished piece of Miami’s skyline finding a permanent digital home within one of the most anticipated video games ever made. Whatever ultimately becomes of the Belmar’s actual real estate future, its likeness now lives on as a small but meaningful piece of ‘GTA VI’s’ meticulously constructed world.
