Franchise milestones have become almost routine at this point for Marvel and Sony’s latest web-slinging blockbuster, with the film seemingly finding a new record to break every single weekend it stays in theaters. Even as competition has intensified from other major releases this fall, this particular Spidey adventure keeps carving out fresh territory on the all-time charts.

That kind of consistency isn’t easy to maintain deep into a theatrical run, especially once a film starts closing in on titles that once seemed untouchable. Yet ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has continued clearing those benchmarks with surprising ease.

‘Brand New Day’ has now crossed $2.4 billion at the global box office, making it just the third film in history to reach that mark. The milestone came alongside a strong sixth overseas weekend that saw the film post $26.1 million internationally, a modest 41.3% drop that compares favorably to the international declines posted by ‘No Way Home’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ at similar points in their runs.

That international performance has pushed Brand New Day’s overseas cume past $1.49 billion across 66 markets, allowing it to overtake ‘Zootopia 2’s international haul and claim the title of Hollywood’s fifth-highest-grossing film of all time overseas. It’s a notable achievement considering ‘Zootopia 2’ posted one of the biggest global openings in animated film history just months earlier, according to a box office breakdown.

Domestically, Brand New Day has already become the highest-grossing superhero film of all time in North America, helping push its combined global total well past the $2.4 billion mark. That domestic strength, paired with its international dominance, has made the film one of the most complete box office performers of the year across every major market.

The film’s overall financial picture becomes even more striking when factoring in its production budget. According to the film’s reported $225 million net production cost, not including marketing, Brand New Day has generated well over ten times that figure globally, a return that places it among the most profitable studio releases of the year regardless of genre.

For context on just how rare this territory is, Deadline has reported that Brand New Day recently became Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing release ever in thirty-six international markets, including major territories like Italy, Spain, and India. That kind of across-the-board international strength is uncommon even among the biggest blockbusters, many of which tend to overperform in select regions rather than dominating broadly.

Looking ahead, industry trackers now expect the film to finish its run somewhere between $2.5 billion and $2.6 billion worldwide, a range that would place it comfortably ahead of ‘No Way Home’s $1.69 billion total at the same stage of release, while still trailing ‘Avengers: Endgame’s $2.7 billion pace. Given the film’s remarkably consistent holds week over week, reaching the higher end of that projection looks increasingly plausible.

With yet another all-time record now in its pocket, ‘Brand New Day’ continues to cement itself as one of the defining box office stories of the year, regardless of which title happens to be sitting at number one on any given weekend.

Do you think Spider-Man: Brand New Day can finish above $2.6 billion worldwide?
