‘Avengers: Doomsday’s’ New ScreenX Trailer Is Giving Fans a 270-Degree Look at the Multiverse
Marvel Studios has spent the better part of this year slowly building anticipation for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,‘ a film tasked with reuniting heroes from three separate cinematic universes for the first time. With a cast that includes nearly every actor who has ever played a Marvel hero, the pressure to deliver a trailer campaign worthy of that scale has been enormous.
That campaign has leaned heavily into premium theatrical formats designed to make the film feel as immersive as possible before audiences even sit down for the main event in December. One of those formats, ScreenX, wraps the traditional screen with two additional side panels to create a 270-degree panoramic viewing experience, and Marvel has been using it to preview footage from ‘Doomsday’ well ahead of release.
Fresh footage from that ScreenX preview has now surfaced from inside a theater, showing off the format’s expanded field of view with new imagery stretching across all three screens. The clip captures a tense moment featuring one of the film’s masked heroes against a stormy, tree-lined backdrop, giving fans another small taste of what the finished film’s scale and tone might look like.

This isn’t the first time Marvel has used the ScreenX format to build buzz for a 2026 release. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ became the first film to shoot additional footage specifically for ScreenX, and that same approach appears to be carrying over into how ‘Doomsday’ is being marketed ahead of its own theatrical run.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and set to hit theaters on December 18, bringing together heroes from the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men on what Marvel describes as a deadly collision course against an existential threat. The film also introduces Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Doctor Doom, marking a significant shift for the actor after years away from the MCU as Tony Stark.
Beyond ScreenX, Disney has also introduced a new premium large format called Infinity Vision specifically for the film, promising bigger screens, brighter images and enhanced sound for audiences who want the full theatrical experience. Notably, ‘Doomsday’ will share its release date with ‘Dune: Part Three,’ which has locked up IMAX screens for three weeks, making formats like ScreenX and Infinity Vision an important alternative for Marvel to offer its own premium viewing option.

Ahead of the film’s December debut, Marvel is also re-releasing ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in theaters on September 25 under the banner ‘Endgame: Encore,’ giving longtime fans a chance to revisit the franchise’s last major team-up before ‘Doomsday’ picks up the thread. With nearly every notable actor from the franchise’s history reportedly set to appear, the film is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious crossovers Marvel has ever attempted.
As the December release date creeps closer, it’s clear Marvel intends to keep the marketing machine running at full speed, using every premium format at its disposal to remind audiences just how big ‘Doomsday’ is meant to feel.
