‘Game of Thrones’ Star Emilia Clarke Turns Up the Glam in Prada, From Lilac Elegance to Milan Cool

Emilia Clarke’s Prada look has been hard to miss this month. Over the span of about a week, the ‘Game of Thrones’ star has moved from one of television’s biggest red carpets to one of fashion’s most talked-about runway shows. The fashion house has been along for the ride at every stop.

The run started at the Emmy Awards on September 14, where Clarke reunited with Emma D’Arcy for a ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘House of the Dragon’ crossover moment. The pair presented Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Clarke wore a lilac Prada gown with a cape-style back featuring symmetrical bows, styled with Boucheron jewelry, though the fashion critics at Red Carpet Fashion Awards weren’t won over by the tailoring and silk faille fabric.

Now a much more relaxed image is making the rounds. Prada shared a new photo of Clarke smiling broadly in a light gray Prada zip jacket with a tied high collar, paired with tinted rectangular sunglasses.

Clarke attended Prada’s Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear show on September 22, held at the Deposito of the Fondazione. According to CelebMafia, she paired a light gray zip-front jacket with a high collar and drawstring tabs with a dark, structured midi skirt, pointed pumps and a compact white bag. WWD reported that her shoes were black satin Prada pumps.

CelebMafia argued that the appeal came from contrast, with a relaxed, sporty jacket sitting above a straighter, more tailored skirt. The site also grouped her with Charli D’Amelio, Camila Mendes and Sadie Sink as guests who relied on proportion and color rather than print to make an impact. Compared with some of the more polished outfits in the room, Clarke’s approach was noticeably casual.

The front row was packed with famous faces. Sink and Maya Hawke, both Prada ambassadors, reunited at the show, and other attendees included Naomi Watts, Michelle Williams, Uma Thurman, Gabrielle Union and Alexa Chung. One social post described the new image as Prada campaign photography, but I couldn’t find that confirmed elsewhere, so the safer read is that it’s tied to her Milan appearance.

The fashion moments arrive during a busy period for Clarke’s career. She recently attended the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of ‘Next Life,’ the romantic comedy-drama from writer-director Drake Doremus. The film follows Ivy, who is confronted with parallel universes in which her life unfolds differently against the backdrop of London’s modern jazz scene, and it also stars Edgar Ramírez and Jack Farthing.

Earlier this year, she also starred in ‘Ponies’ on Peacock, an 8-part 1970s Cold War espionage thriller alongside Haley Lu Richardson. The series debuted on January 15, though Just Jared reports it was canceled after 1 season. It received strong reviews during its run, which makes the news a disappointment for its fans.

More projects are on the horizon. Clarke is attached to Amazon MGM’s ‘Criminal,’ an 8-episode adaptation of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’s graphic novels, in which she plays a daring, witty robber named Mallory. She is also set to play Constance Lloyd in ‘An Ideal Wife,’ the period drama from director Sophie Hyde about Oscar Wilde’s wife.
