‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Star Simone Ashley Glows in a Champagne Satin Halter Gown in Newly Shared Photos
Simone Ashley has never had trouble making a fashion moment out of a quiet backdrop. The ‘Bridgerton’ star has built a reputation for dressing that reads as polished and a little daring at the same time, and this week has been another showcase for it.
Ashley spent the start of the week in Milan, where she walked the runway at Vogue World: Milano in a Tod’s ensemble. She wore a mocha brown pinstripe suit with a matching chocolate button-up, carrying the jacket on her arm with the sleeves rolled up. Small hoop earrings, a matching belt, a suede bag and loafers finished the office-siren look, and her long dark hair was worn down in soft waves.
Now a very different mood is circulating. Film Updates shared a set of newly posted photos of Ashley on Thursday, credited to photographer Rebecca Spencer. The images show her in a champagne satin halter gown against a white interior.

The gown is a floor-length column in a pale champagne-gold satin with a soft sheen. It has a halter neckline that plunges deep, and the fabric skims the body in a clean, fluid line down to the floor. Ashley wears her jet-black hair long and center-parted with loose waves, and the accessories are kept to a minimum so the dress does all the talking.

It is not the first time she has gone for this palette. In July, she shared photos in a shimmering champagne gold halter-neck, backless dress, letting her hair fall to her waist and skipping additional jewelry beyond tiny earrings. Fans reacted warmly, and the photos also showed off her back tattoo.
Ashley’s fashion résumé is long. At the London premiere of ‘F1: The Movie’, she wore a gold Balmain gown from the fall/winter 2025 collection with a halter neckline, sculpted bodice and a sharply flared peplum. Before that, she wore a pink Versace lingerie-style dress with a shredded train for the ‘Little Mermaid’ premiere, in which she played one of Ariel’s sisters.
Her Milan history is strong too. During last year’s Milan Fashion Week, she attended the EE72 Milan launch in a green silk and lace mini dress with thin straps, keeping the styling minimal. This week’s runway appearance adds another chapter, this time in a tailored, corporate-inspired outfit.
The link to her screen work is hard to miss. Ashley rose to fame through ‘Sex Education’ and ‘Bridgerton’, and she plays Miranda’s newest assistant in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’. That makes her office-siren runway look a full-circle moment, as Yahoo put it, since much of the trend draws from the original film.
The timing is also fitting because Milan Fashion Week is in full swing. The Spring/Summer 2027 season runs from September 22 to 28, with Demna’s Gucci show and Moschino’s new creative directors debuting on September 25. Giorgio Armani closes the week on Sunday.
Whether the new photos were taken before or during her trip hasn’t been made clear, so it’s best to treat them simply as a fresh drop in a busy week. Either way, the gown offers a soft counterpoint to the sharp tailoring she wore on the runway.
