‘Nobody Wants This’ Trailer Arrives, and Joanne and Noah Are Finally Moving In Together
Netflix’s favorite rom-com couple has spent two seasons proving that falling in love is the easy part. Between clashing beliefs, meddling parents and a very complicated conversion question, Joanne and Noah have rarely had a quiet week. Now the streamer is promising a new chapter for the couple in ‘Nobody Wants This‘, and fans finally have footage to prove it.
The series, created by Erin Foster and starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, follows an agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi who fall in love despite wildly different lives. Season 2 was full of drama, as Joanne’s inability to commit to converting caused a breakup, a reunion and plenty of chaos around them. It ended with the pair choosing each other for real.
On Thursday, Netflix released the official trailer for the third season, a 2 minute 6 second preview that confirms Joanne and Noah are heading into a much more domestic phase. The season premieres October 22 with all 10 episodes, almost exactly a year after Season 2 landed. One glimpse from the trailer shows Noah carrying a cardboard box up to a front door while Joanne looks on, an image that fits the season’s move-in theme.

Netflix describes the preview as Joanne and Noah taking their relationship to the next level amid sibling drama, maternal meddling and one giant leap of faith. That lines up with the official synopsis, which says the pair are moving into a home and a relationship that finally feels solid, embracing every exciting “first” that comes with building a life together.
The writers say that was a deliberate choice. Co-showrunner Jenni Konner told Netflix Tudum that the guiding idea in the writers room was that “This season feels like Champagne.” Co-showrunner Bruce Eric Kaplan has said the team wanted to let the couple settle in and have fun after the ups and downs of Season 2.
That doesn’t mean everything will be smooth. The trailer teases friction from family and friends, and the show is expected to explore the everyday problems that arrive once the big romantic decision has been made.
Joanne and Noah aren’t the only ones whose lives are shifting. Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther (Jackie Tohn) are pushed back into the dating world, whether they like it or not, while Morgan (Justine Lupe) takes her career to the next level on the way to becoming an almost media sensation. Netflix also hints that Sasha and Morgan have been circling something neither can admit.
Season 2 delivered some big relationship twists, including Morgan’s engagement to her therapist, Dr. Andy (Arian Moayed), which eventually fell apart. The new season builds on that with a stacked group of newcomers.
Andrew Rannells joins as Sebastien, a nemesis for Joanne in her conversion class, and Sarah Silverman plays Rabbi Eden, the teacher who becomes a supportive presence for Joanne and Noah. Keyla Monterroso Mejia plays Amber, a classmate obsessed with finding a Jewish husband, and Avan Jogia plays Travis, a confident guy’s guy who gets under Joanne’s skin.
The guest list also includes Poorna Jagannathan as Eleanor, Sadie Sandler as Denise, Stephanie Koenig as Poppy and Steven Weber as Julian. Creator Erin Foster makes her first appearance on camera as a mysterious character named Nicole. Foster has said Nicole represents the single, scatterbrained version of herself that Joanne used to see, which sets up a face-off between the newly matured Joanne and her past self.
The show was renewed just two weeks after Season 2 arrived, so fans have been waiting a full year for this moment. With the trailer out and the date locked in, the countdown is on.
