‘Hunger Games’ Star Mckenna Grace Attends Target Beauty Studio Celebration, Turning a Beauty Event Into a Head-Turning Style Moment

Target has spent the past several weeks working to turn its beauty aisles into something resembling a genuine cultural moment, rolling out a rebranded studio concept designed to feel less like a big-box retailer and more like a curated beauty destination. That kind of retail reinvention rarely gets star power behind it, but the launch has managed to draw exactly that.

The retailer’s new Beauty Studio concept debuted earlier this month across more than 600 stores, bringing in prestige and buzzy indie brands that previously weren’t part of Target’s lineup. With celebrations continuing to roll out through the fall, the brand has leaned into pairing the launch with recognizable faces to help it stand out.

That strategy brought actress McKenna Grace to the retailer’s Target Beauty Studio Celebration Event, where she was photographed among the new displays by Getty photographer Presley Ann. The appearance ties directly into the studio’s broader rollout, which now spans more than 1,600 products from 90 brands, over two-thirds of which are entirely new to Target’s shelves.

The event coincided with in-store celebrations happening nationwide, including Saturday sessions running from noon to 4 p.m. at various locations. Target’s senior vice president of merchandising, essentials and beauty, Amanda Nusz, has framed the concept as a place where shoppers can restock familiar favorites while discovering newer names in the beauty space, part of a broader push that’s added brands like Dyson, Sunday Riley, St. Tropez and Boy Smells to the retailer’s assortment.

Grace’s appearance comes at a moment when her acting career shows no signs of slowing down. She appeared in ‘Scream 7’ earlier this year, returned to voice work in ‘Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie,’ and is set to appear in ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,’ which arrives in theaters on November 20.

Beyond that, Grace has also been cast in Netflix’s live-action ‘Scooby-Doo’ series, adding another major franchise to her growing résumé. She additionally stars alongside Green Day and Mason Thames in the road trip comedy ‘Nimrods,’ rounding out a stretch of upcoming releases that spans horror, animation, franchise blockbusters and streaming originals.

That range reflects just how far Grace has come since her early days as a child actor. Once described as one of the most prolific young performers of her generation with dozens of credits to her name, she’s continued to expand into more mature roles while still balancing high-profile franchise work.

The Target Beauty Studio launch itself has been built around spotlighting the founders behind its newest additions, several of whom bring personal stories tied directly to their products. Celebrity makeup artist Kim Baker, founder of Glamazon Beauty, developed the brand’s signature Roadmap system specifically to simplify shade matching after years of watching customers struggle to find products suited to their skin tones.

Other founders featured as part of the studio’s rollout include Buff Beauty’s Katia Beauchamp, Peta Jane Beauty founder Peta Murgatroyd and SARELLY co-founders Anna Sarelly and Rémi Martini. That mix of new and expanding indie brands has become central to how Target is positioning the studio concept, treating it less as a simple product refresh and more as a genuine beauty discovery destination.

For Grace, the appearance offers a lighter, brand-focused moment amid an otherwise packed year of film and television commitments. Between franchise blockbusters, streaming originals and now a splashy retail event tied to one of the year’s bigger beauty relaunches, she’s clearly having no trouble staying visible across multiple corners of pop culture at once.

With ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ still ahead and her Netflix ‘Scooby-Doo’ series yet to premiere, this Target appearance is likely just one small stop in what’s shaping up to be one of Grace’s busiest years yet.
