Jewelry brands have increasingly turned their store openings into full-blown celebrity affairs, treating a ribbon cutting less like retail news and more like a red carpet moment. Tiffany & Co. leaned fully into that approach this week with its latest expansion on the West Coast.

The storied jeweler celebrated the grand opening of its newly expanded flagship at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, bringing together a lineup of stylish attendees for a black-tie evening built around high jewelry and old Hollywood glamour.

Among the standouts of the night was Laura Harrier, who stunned in a Bird on a Rock by Tiffany necklace crafted in platinum and yellow gold, set with a twelve-carat rubellite surrounded by diamonds. The wide neckline of her black FFORME dress framed the statement piece perfectly, with matching color echoed in her earrings and ring.

Harrier was joined at the celebration by fellow attendees Zoey Deutch, Charles Melton, and singer Ashe, all dressed for the occasion inside the newly designed 15,000-square-foot store, created by architect Peter Marino. Deutch wore a HardWear Color necklace in yellow gold featuring pearls and turquoise, marking the piece’s first public appearance, while Melton accessorized with an aquamarine Bird on a Rock brooch alongside a Tiffany Timer Chronograph watch.

The evening unfolded as a black-tie affair, with guests arriving through a deep-blue carpeted hallway lined with screens showcasing global ambassador Natalie Portman’s latest campaign before stepping into the store itself. Inside, attendees mingled among jewelry vitrines while sipping champagne, white negronis, and white cosmos.

Tiffany & Co.’s North America president and chief executive officer, Matthieu Garnier, addressed the crowd before dinner, highlighting local touches woven throughout the store’s design, including a gemstone discovered near Mesa Grande, California. “This is the only store with the Blue Box Café” outside of New York, he said, raising a glass “to this new chapter of Tiffany on the West Coast,” according to WWD.

That Blue Box Café detail ties into a broader expansion Tiffany has been building around the concept, extending the brand’s signature dining experience beyond its flagship home base. The store’s design also incorporated blue and violet floral arrangements inspired by California’s natural landscape, reinforcing the West Coast theme throughout the space.

Before dinner, a curtain reveal inside the store added a theatrical touch to the evening’s proceedings, with the meal itself prepared by acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud. The night’s guest list also included Anton Segerstrom, a partner in the family business behind South Coast Plaza, alongside model Kelsey Merritt.

For Harrier, the appearance continues a pattern of high-profile Tiffany moments throughout the past year. She previously attended the brand’s dinner celebrating its Tiffany HardWear collection campaign in New York, where she wore a sequin-covered slipdress paired with chain-link jewelry from the same collection.

Her fashion presence has extended well beyond red carpets and jewelry events, too. Earlier this year, Harrier partnered with designer Tiffany Howell of Night Palm to launch an exclusive Crate & Barrel collection inspired by their shared love of vintage cinema and fashion.

Between her recurring presence at Tiffany’s biggest events and her growing footprint in home design, Harrier has quietly built a reputation as one of the more consistent style presences on the celebrity circuit. This latest rubellite moment only reinforces that status.

What do you think of Laura Harrier’s look at Tiffany & Co.’s South Coast Plaza opening?
