‘Mushoku Tensei’ Season 3 Is Splitting in Two, and the Wait for Cour 2 Just Got Real

Isekai anime has produced no shortage of long-running franchises over the past decade, but few have managed to sustain the kind of steady critical acclaim that this particular series continues to enjoy. Rudeus Greyrat’s journey through his second life has become something of a gold standard for the genre.

That reputation has only grown since the third season kicked off its run this summer, adapting some of the most pivotal material in the entire story. Alongside the confirmation, the official ‘Mushoku Tensei’ account released a teaser trailer for the upcoming cour, with the accompanying end card thanking viewers for watching and asking them to look forward to what’s ahead. Early reporting on the teaser points to a tease of the long-anticipated battle against the Dragon God Orsted, one of the series’ most significant threats.

Season 3 is based on Volume 14 of the original light novel by Rifujin na Magonote, with illustrations by Shirotaka, and follows Nanahoshi, Rudeus, and their group as they travel to the mysterious floating realm of Perugius. Studio Bind has continued handling animation duties for this installment, maintaining the same visual polish that’s defined the franchise’s production values since it first launched.

Crunchyroll has been streaming the season as part of its Summer 2026 lineup, giving both subtitled and dubbed audiences a chance to keep up with the story in real time each week. That simulcast model has helped keep global fan discussion active throughout the cour’s entire run.
