Tom Holland Has a Wishlist for His Next MCU Spider-Man Suit, and Fans Are Going to Love It

Spider-Man’s ever-expanding wardrobe has become one of the character’s most beloved traditions across comics, games, and movies alike. Every era of the wall-crawler seems to bring with it a new suit that instantly captures fans’ imaginations, and Tom Holland’s version of the hero is no exception.

Over nearly a decade in the role, Holland has already cycled through numerous costumes across his solo films and crossover appearances, each one building on the character’s growing mythology. With ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ behind him, fans have naturally started wondering which comic-accurate suit he might tackle next.

Now Holland himself has weighed in, revealing that he’d love to see two specific fan-favorite designs make their way into a live-action MCU film: the Bombastic Bag-Man and the Spider-Man 2099 suit. The actor shared his wishlist in an interview featured in Marvel’s milestone issue ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #1000, published via Bleeding Cool.

Speaking about the Bag-Man costume, Holland pointed to its unusual comic origins as part of the appeal. “I like the Bag-Man because I love his relationship with Johnny Storm,” Holland said. “That would be something I would really be eager to try to explore in the future.”

The Bombastic Bag-Man look, born from a storyline where Peter Parker borrows a Fantastic Four costume and improvises a paper bag mask, has long been a cult favorite among comic readers for its sheer absurdity. Its connection to Johnny Storm in particular seems to be what draws Holland toward the idea, hinting at potential interest in further crossovers with the Fantastic Four corner of the MCU.

As for the Spider-Man 2099 suit, worn by the futuristic hero Miguel O’Hara, Holland didn’t hide his enthusiasm either. “The 2099 is another favorite,” he said. “It’s epic.”

Despite his excitement, Holland also poked fun at himself when discussing the practicality of actually wearing the 2099 costume on screen. He noted that the character is typically depicted as a towering, imposing figure, joking that he’d “look so stupid” and “ridiculous” trying to fill out such a physically dominant design.

Holland’s comments arrive as part of a broader retrospective interview tied to ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #1000, a special oversized issue celebrating the character’s legacy across page and screen. Beyond his suit preferences, Holland also used the opportunity to reflect on which comic storylines have resonated with him most, specifically citing the Clone Saga from the Ultimate Spider-Man line as a personal favorite.

He also recalled a specific moment from that storyline, describing a scene where Peter comes face-to-face with Spider-Woman for the first time as something that stuck with him emotionally. It’s the kind of reflection that suggests Holland’s connection to the character goes well beyond just the films themselves, extending into a genuine appreciation for Spider-Man’s broader comic book history.

With Holland openly campaigning for these designs, it’s easy to see why fans are already buzzing about the possibility of either suit eventually making its live-action debut. Whether Marvel Studios takes the hint remains to be seen, but Holland’s evident enthusiasm certainly doesn’t hurt the odds.

Given how much fun the MCU has already had reinventing Spider-Man’s wardrobe across multiple films, both the Bag-Man and 2099 designs feel like natural next steps for a franchise that clearly isn’t afraid to get a little weird with its costume choices. For a character built on constant reinvention, embracing one of comics’ goofiest looks alongside one of its most futuristic might be exactly the kind of contrast Holland’s Spider-Man needs next.
