LEGO’s First Dragon Ball Set Leaks: Shenron & Goku Are Coming This November

LEGO has spent the past few years steadily pulling anime into the brick world. A LEGO Ideas Yu-Gi-Oh! set is in the works after a fan-made Exodia build won LEGO’s contest, and a full One Piece theme is on the way. Naruto has reportedly been considered too. A LEGO Dragon Ball set was starting to feel like a matter of when, not if.

That moment arrived last week. A short teaser on the LEGO Group’s official Instagram account showed one of the seven Dragon Balls rolling into view, confirming that a Dragon Ball set is in production. Brick Fanatics noted that the teaser also confirms it will fall under the Icons banner, which is home to one-off licensed models such as 11389 Project Hail Mary.

Now the first look has leaked. Brick Tap shared images of the LEGO Dragon Ball Shenron & Goku set, listed as Icons 11390. The box reads $180 USD, 1,764 pieces and a November 1 release, and the caption says it was found in store by a Brick Tap member. The tweet has drawn about 778,000 views.

The images show Shenron rising up from all seven Dragon Balls, with his long green body coiling around a central structure. Goku appears as a minifigure riding a cloud beside the dragon, and the base carries the original Dragon Ball logo. ComicBook.com described the model as a sprawling version of the Eternal Dragon.

Leaked images have also shown Goku with his tail, which points to the early days of the series. Stone Wars noted that the minifigure appears to have an ape tail and medium-length legs, and that in the story the tail is removed while he trains as a teenager. That suggests the set draws on the original ‘Dragon Ball’ rather than ‘Dragon Ball Z’.

The specs have moved a bit since earlier rumors. Dexerto noted that the earliest leak listed 1,760 pieces and a price of $199.99, while the latest details point to about $180. Earlier reports had put the price somewhere between $150 and $200.

LEGO has not formally confirmed the set, so fans should treat the details as provisional until the official reveal. ComicBook.com said $180 is well in line with other 2026 sets with similar piece counts. For an 18+ display model of this size, that is a fairly reasonable price.

Choosing the wish-granting dragon makes a lot of sense. Shenron is instantly recognizable even to people who have never watched the show, and Brick Fanatics noted that he acts as a narrative anchor for the rest of the story. The dragon’s long, coiling shape also suits LEGO, which has plenty of experience with serpentine builds in themes like ‘Ninjago’.

Brick Fanatics also pointed out that the timing fits, since this year marks the 40th anniversary of the anime series’ original debut. A mid-sized Icons set also works as a prelude to a larger theme. That is how other recent licensed releases have been handled.

The bigger news for fans is what may come next. Reports point to a full ‘Dragon Ball Z’ theme arriving next year, and Brick Tap’s post reminded followers that the Icons set is separate from that line. One leak claims nine sets could arrive in April 2027, including a Kame House aimed at adults, Goku vs. Raditz, Frieza’s spaceship and a buildable Vegeta.

None of that has been officially confirmed by LEGO. Still, it suggests that the Shenron set is only the beginning of a larger collaboration. Fans of the series will no doubt be watching closely for the official announcement.

Early reactions are positive. Dexerto reported that the leaked design is already getting a warm reception, and the tweet’s engagement backs that up. There are also plenty of questions about whether the set will show Goku in his younger form and how the dragon’s body will be displayed.

LEGO Japan has also been playing along, with a teaser asking fans whether they are ready to have their wish granted. That is a fun nod to the moment Shenron is summoned in the story. It suggests LEGO understands how much this crossover means to longtime fans.

With a November 1 date reportedly locked in, the official reveal could arrive any day. That would bring confirmed details on the price, the piece count and the contents of the box. Until then, the leak gives fans a solid idea of what to expect.

For collectors, the set is a chance to put a piece of anime history on the shelf. It is also a big moment for LEGO, which has been expanding into new fandoms at a fast pace. If the leaked numbers hold, $180 for a 1,764-piece dragon looks like an easy wish to grant.
