Mogo did eventually start to socialize, and it became a regular presence in Green Lantern stories beginning with Green Lantern Corps issue 2 in 2006, written by co-creator Dave Gibbons.

Mogo is much more than a novelty. The planet is responsible for guiding power rings to new sentient beings after their previous bearers die. Without Mogo, the Corps would lose a crucial way of recruiting replacements.

The planet was a recurring character on the animated Green Lantern series, voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, and proved invaluable in defeating the vengeful Red Lantern Corps.
