Paris Fashion Week rarely begins with a runway. This year, one of its first big nights was a dinner inside the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, where Tiffany & Co. gathered actors, ambassadors and fashion figures to celebrate a designer who has been gone for decades. The evening had the kind of guest list that keeps photographers busy.

The occasion was Tiffany’s new 4-year partnership with the museum to conserve and digitize Jean Schlumberger’s archive, which includes more than 10,000 items. The dinner accompanied the launch of an exhibition called ‘I Am Only a Pencil’, curated with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Guests posed in front of a backdrop referencing the designer’s famous description of himself as merely a pencil.

Two of the guests drew special attention. Amanda Seyfried and Adria Arjona’s Tiffany & M.A.D. dinner photo shows the pair standing side by side against a raw concrete wall with a warm glow along the floor. Seyfried wore a strapless column gown in a deep dark shade with a delicate necklace and her hair in a high knot. Arjona chose a fitted black midi dress with a sweetheart neckline, thin straps and off-the-shoulder detail, plus pointed pumps and a softly undone updo.

The pairing isn’t random. In January, Tiffany hosted an intimate dinner at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles celebrating Seyfried’s performance in Mona Fastvold’s ‘The Testament of Ann Lee’, and Arjona was among the guests who attended, according to Just Jared. Most of the attendees wore Tiffany jewelry that night.

That history makes the Paris photo feel like a reunion. Both actresses have close ties to the house, with Arjona serving as an ambassador and starring in its 2026 Valentine’s Day campaign. Seyfried has worn Tiffany pieces on several red carpets this year, including a diamond-encrusted platinum and gold necklace at the Berlin Film Festival.

They were far from alone. Diane Kruger, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Greta Lee and Anya Taylor-Joy also attended, and Just Jared reported that Cynthia Erivo was among the stars who celebrated the partnership. Comic Basics described the dinner as a night focused on the house’s heritage rather than a product launch.

Erivo wore Khaite with more than $50,000 worth of Tiffany jewels, according to WWD. Taylor-Joy and Lee were identified as ambassadors among the high-profile guests. Together, the group made the evening one of the busiest opening nights of Paris Fashion Week.

The matching palette was a smart choice. The exhibition is about drawings and craftsmanship, and both actresses kept their outfits simple so the jewelry could take center stage. It also created a striking contrast with the neutral concrete backdrop.

Seyfried has said she still feels uncomfortable on red carpets and relies on her longtime stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, who understands her style. She has also been a Lancôme ambassador, and she wore a custom Prada gown to a Louvre event during last year’s Paris Fashion Week. The simple black gown fits that approach.

The dinner also comes at a high point in her career. ‘The Housemaid’ became a surprise box office hit after its December 19 release, with Sydney Sweeney co-starring, and a sequel is on the way. ‘The Testament of Ann Lee’ earned her best-actress nominations, including at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.

She also earned a Golden Globe nomination for ‘Long Bright River’. Speaking at the Berlin Film Festival, Seyfried noted that women are showing up at theaters because films are being made for women. Her 2026 slate also includes several television and film projects.

Arjona has been busy too. She recently made waves at Milan Fashion Week with a Max Mara appearance, and she has become one of Tiffany’s most visible ambassadors. Her earlier appearance at the same dinner drew plenty of attention online.

For fans of both actresses, the photo is a rare chance to see them together. It also shows how brands can use ambassador friendships to build a sense of community around a heritage project. In this case, the black dresses and quiet smiles did the talking.

The dinner suggests Tiffany is leaning into storytelling. Rather than announcing a new collection, it centered the night around Schlumberger’s archive and the museum partnership. Its Blue Book 2026 collection, Hidden Garden, also reinterprets several of his designs.

That approach gives the house a way to connect its past with its present. The guest list keeps the brand in front of a broad audience, while the exhibition preserves the drawings behind the jewels. It’s a smart balance of glamour and history.
