‘Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence Finally Shares Her First Instagram Photo Post, and It’s a Paris Fashion Week Photo Dump
Jennifer Lawrence spent years as one of Hollywood’s most famous social media holdouts. Her Instagram debut was always going to be a moment, and the actress has now made good on that.
She joined Instagram in September, creating her account on a Wednesday and posting her first video on Thursday, September 10. In it, she warned followers that she would quit immediately if anyone said anything negative. She already had 1.5 million followers by then.
Her small following list was quickly picked apart online. It included Stephen Colbert, her ‘Hunger Games’ co-star Josh Hutcherson, Keke Palmer, Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, her husband Cooke Maroney and Miss Piggy.
After that debut, Lawrence went quiet. Now she has finally followed up with her first photo post, a seven-slide carousel that gives fans their first real look inside her feed.
The cover image shows her in a dreamy baby blue slip dress by Dior. In the caption, she thanked Dior and creative director Jonathan Anderson and praised the show she attended.
Several of the snapshots appear to have been taken on Tuesday, September 29, when she attended the Christian Dior Women’s Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week. Other slides, including a humorous video, document her adventures around France and a trip to Disneyland Paris, where she rode the Tower of Terror and enjoyed some snacks.
The images that circulated online capture her relaxed, playful side. In one, she poses in a red strapless dress with a peace sign in a room with framed artwork. In another, she sticks out her tongue on a grand staircase beside an ornate ironwork gate, wearing a pale, delicately patterned outfit and holding a small white handbag.
It is exactly the loose, unfiltered energy fans expect from Lawrence, and it is a long way from a polished publicity feed. She has also made clear that fans should not expect to see her two children on the platform, since she has previously said she wants to keep them out of the public eye.
The cover outfit comes from a look W Magazine described as a warped take on a bedroom slip. She sat front row at Dior’s Spring 2027 show in an icy blue dress lined with white lace and adorned with floral embroidery.
The skirt took an unexpected twist with asymmetrical ruching gathered toward her thigh. The dress also featured a low back, a leg slit and whisper-thin straps, and she completed the look with a mini Lady Dior bag and matching powder-blue pumps.
As a Dior brand ambassador, Lawrence is a fixture at the house’s runway shows. Her red carpet appearances may be rare, but W noted that she could be amping up her public presence, at least on social media feeds.
The comments on her carousel were quickly flooded by thousands of fans and famous friends who wanted to celebrate the moment. It mirrored the reaction to her first post, which fans treated as a major cultural event.
She also has plenty on the horizon. Deadline reported this week that she is slated to star in the sci-fi film ‘The Flood’, written and directed by Zach Cregger, and she is developing a Muppet movie with her friend Emma Stone.
