‘Sweat’ Star Ana de Armas Ends Her Social Media Silence With a Sun-Soaked Photo Drop
Ana de Armas has never been the type to overshare, which is why her new photos tend to travel fast whenever they land. The Cuban-Spanish actress has built a reputation as a star who keeps much of her life away from the spotlight, so a fresh Instagram post feels like a small event for fans.
Her feed had also gone quiet for a while. Entertainment Now reports that her previous post went up on September 9, leaving followers with several weeks of silence and plenty of room for speculation.
That wait ended on October 1. The actress dropped several new photos on Instagram. The images it highlighted show a relaxed, off-duty side of her: a close-up selfie in a dark cap and a pink top with layered necklaces, and a mirror shot in a grey knit top and dark jeans against a pink wall painted with leafy vines.
According to Entertainment Now, the full post is a carousel of 11 photos and two videos shared with her roughly 16 million followers. It has no caption, and a Parcels track plays over the footage. The outlet says clues point to a getaway in Greece, including an aerial view of the island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea.
Beyond the selfies, the set also includes sunsets, landscapes, a pair of footwear left in the sand, and a statue of the Virgin Mary that appears to have been shot inside a church. The two videos show waves rolling onto a beach and a firework from what looks like a street celebration.
The set also includes a beach shot of the actress facing the sea in a black string bikini. She wore her dark brown hair down in loose waves, with layered necklaces, drop earrings and a knit cardigan draped over her shoulders.
One detail did not escape notice. Venezuelan singer Beto Montenegro does not appear anywhere in the post. The actress was spotted getting cozy with him on a beach getaway in August, and the outlet says his absence raises doubts about the status of the romance.
It’s worth keeping that in perspective. A holiday carousel that leaves someone out proves very little, and she hasn’t said anything about it herself.
The timing of the photo drop is notable, because her time away from the screen has been long. She has no acting credits so far in 2026, and her last release was ‘Ballerina’ in 2025. That follows a run that took her from ‘Knives Out’ to an Oscar nomination for playing Marilyn Monroe in ‘Blonde’.
Her return looks set to be a crowded one. She is attached to ‘Sweat’, a remake of a Polish psychological thriller in which she plays fitness influencer Emma Kent. Production began on March 30, 2026, with filming planned for Los Angeles and the UK, and director J Blakeson is at the helm.
She is also set to star opposite Kate Hudson in the erotic thriller ‘Palm Grove’. In the spy thriller ‘Impunity’, she reunites with Sebastian Stan, her co-star from ‘Ghosted’. Directed by Felipe Gálvez, the film adapts Philippe Sands’ book on the Pinochet case, and both leads are executive producers.
Jennifer Connelly was in talks for the Apple spy series ‘Safe Houses’. None of these projects has a confirmed release date yet, so fans will have to keep waiting for the next time she appears on screen.
For now, her Instagram is the best window into where her head is at. If this carousel is anything to go by, she spent the break soaking up the sun, wandering sunsets and, by the look of it, skipping the caption.
