‘Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence Wore the Kind of Look She Rarely Does at Paris Fashion Week
Few stars are as closely tied to a fashion house as Jennifer Lawrence is to Dior. She has been an ambassador for the brand since 2012, and she is a regular presence at its runway shows and events. Even so, a front-row sighting from her still tends to feel like a moment.
That held true again as the Spring/Summer 2027 season rolled through the French capital. The final chapter of Fashion Month runs from September 28 to October 6 and is also the most star-studded. The September 29 Dior show marked a year since Jonathan Anderson’s debut as creative director, and it drew both Lawrence and Rihanna out of hiding.
Lawrence appeared at the presentation of Dior’s ready-to-wear collection for spring and summer 2027, one of her rarer public outings. For the occasion, she picked a delicate light blue slip dress carrying the French house’s signature.

The details bear out the delicate description. The pale powder-blue piece is Look 66 from Dior’s Cruise 2027 show, with thin spaghetti straps, scalloped eyelash trim and a plunging V-neckline. On the runway, a model wore it with a matching single-breasted blazer, while Lawrence styled the dress herself.

Rather than letting the fabric fall in a simple column, the silky design draped loosely across her body, with some folds pinned up along the hip. The back dipped into a plunging, backless silhouette that reached the waist. That gathered shape is what separates it from a basic slip.

The accessories stayed in the same icy palette. She carried a structured Dior Small Lady D-Joy bag and wore powder-blue Dior Bow Heeled Slingback Sandals. Black rectangular Dior sunglasses offset the softness.
Her hair drew nearly as much attention as the dress. Lawrence debuted a freshly trimmed fringe and wore her honey-blonde hair loose, styled by Matthew Sosnowski, who told Vogue he built the soft look around the outfit. Kylie Jenner called the post “so cute,” while Kat Dennings joked about whether she needed bangs too.
Not everyone was won over. Some social media users compared the satin dress to bedsheets and a crumpled nightie. Others saw careful craft: CelebMafia gave the look 8/10 for its unusual draped construction and disciplined pale-blue coordination.
The “rarely” in Index Shopping’s headline makes sense when you look back at her recent Dior appearances. The result was considerably softer than some of her earlier looks for the house, including gray tailoring and velvet stiletto pumps in 2024. Last October, she wore a layered outfit of a blue button-down, black vest and classic beige trench.
Lawrence wasn’t the only name turning heads in the front row. Anya Taylor-Joy was part of the celebrity-filled lineup, and Cynthia Erivo and Greta Lee were also among the guests. Still, the pale-blue slip dress is the look that got people talking, whichever side of the debate they landed on.
What do you think of Jennifer’s Dior look?
