Florence Pugh Hams It Up With Her Own Yelena-Covered Quavers Bag for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Marvel marketing has gone well beyond posters and trailers, and the latest example is a bag of crisps. Florence Pugh has been having a remarkably busy few weeks, from press tours to striking magazine covers, all while gearing up to return as Yelena Belova in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Now a playful new Florence Pugh ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ photo is giving fans a fun reminder that Yelena is back very soon.
Yelena has become one of the MCU’s most beloved characters since Pugh introduced her in ‘Black Widow’ in 2021. She has since appeared in ‘Hawkeye,’ ‘Thunderbolts*’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ where the team around her rebranded itself as the New Avengers. That steady climb from supporting player to cornerstone has made her one of the most talked-about faces heading into the next Avengers movie.
On Oct. 2, Cosmic Marvel shared a newly posted photo of Pugh holding up a bright yellow bag of Quavers with Yelena’s face on the front. She peeks playfully over the top of the bag with wide eyes, while the packaging shows Yelena in her green tactical gear alongside ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ branding and a reminder that the film is only in cinemas. The bag also carries the snack’s Light & Curly label.
The photo ties into one of the film’s quirkier marketing partnerships. Walkers Snacks, the PepsiCo-owned brand, has teamed up with Marvel Studios for an on-pack promotion supporting the movie’s release. It’s a very British way to build hype, and it clearly delighted fans online.

The promotion has been in UK stores since September, with Avengers-themed packaging across selected multipacks and sharing bags of Wotsits, Quavers, Monster Munch and Squares. Designs feature characters from The Avengers, The New Avengers, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men and The Wakandans, including Captain America, the Invisible Woman and Doctor Doom. A promotional banner shows Captain America, Thor, Yelena and Doom looming over the tagline ‘Assemble Your Snacks.’
Walkers has also launched a limited-edition Wotsits Bag of Bones in the Really Cheesy flavor. The 120-gram sharing bag features Doctor Doom across the design, with bone-shaped crisps inside. It’s being positioned for Halloween parties and sharing occasions.
Shoppers can enter a prize draw by scanning a QR code on promotional packs and entering an on-pack code through PepsiCo’s JOY platform. Prizes include a family holiday to Tokyo. The campaign runs until Dec. 31 and is timed to cover both Halloween and the film’s UK cinema release on Dec. 16.

Putting Yelena on a snack bag isn’t random. Vanity Fair reported last week that Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige hinted ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will be anchored by Yelena. The same profile confirmed that Pugh will also return in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’
Feige had already told fans at BiliBili World in Shanghai that anyone who loves Yelena should wait for ‘Doomsday,’ since she plays a big part in the film. The trailer has since placed her in combat, wearing her muted New Avengers gear. That look carries over from ‘Thunderbolts*,’ and the film sees her team up with characters from across the MCU against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
The setup traces back to the ‘Thunderbolts*’ post-credits scene, in which the New Avengers are the first to detect the Fantastic Four’s interdimensional ship. That scene put Yelena’s team squarely at the center of the story heading into the crossover. With Pugh now holding up her own character’s face on a bag of crisps, Marvel seems comfortable letting her carry the marketing as well.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ brings together heroes from three universes, including the Avengers, the New Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and the Wakandans, which explains the sprawling character lineup on those snack bags. The film opens in U.S. theaters on Dec. 18, followed by ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ next December. For Pugh, a bag of Quavers is a lighthearted teaser before the heavy lifting begins.
