‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Reportedly Filming in Spain With Latverian Witches and Doombots, Check out the Footage
Marvel’s marketing machine for ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ has been running on mystery for months, and the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ promo rollout shows no sign of slowing down. Few details have fueled as much speculation as the masked magic users standing beside Doctor Doom. Now the latest buzz is traveling from California to southern Spain.
The film arrives in US theaters on Dec. 18, with Anthony and Joe Russo directing and Robert Downey Jr. playing Victor von Doom. According to the film’s production details, the story picks up 14 months after ‘Thunderbolts*’ and sends heroes from 3 universes into a fight with Doom amid a collapsing multiverse.
The marketing has been just as sprawling as the cast. Trailers debuted at CinemaCon in April and at Comic-Con in July, and exclusive footage also appeared with the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Encore on Sept. 25.
Now a new report has the campaign heading to Spain. Avengers Updates posted on Oct. 3 that a new promo is being filmed featuring the Latverian Witches and Doombots for the movie. The post included an 18-second vertical clip from an account called “em | doomsday era,” showing a stone amphitheater bathed in vivid green light with a glowing emblem on the wall above.

The clip carries a Spanish headline asking whether Doctor Doom is at Comic Con Málaga, and a subtitle in which a speaker says he doesn’t want to say anything. Marvel has not confirmed the shoot, and none of the coverage reviewed for this story mentions Doombots in connection with the event, so treat the details as unverified for now.
The Málaga link is not out of nowhere. San Diego Comic-Con Málaga has been distributing an international poster that shows Downey’s Doom on a staircase before his castle, flanked by 3 masked Latverian Witches dressed in green, orange and purple. Dork stressed that it is a physical convention item rather than an official digital release from Marvel Studios.
Marvel’s presence at the event has leaned into the same look. The promotional booth features a large Avengers “A” logo on stone, glowing green panels, a Thor’s hammer prop and Captain America’s shield embedded in a textured wall. That green glow matches the lighting seen in the new clip.
The witches have been a running mystery since San Diego. Marvel staged a rotating costume display there, with green-and-gold robes and a silver mask on preview night, a gold-and-yellow version on day 2 and a deep purple look on day 3. By the final day the display was replaced with a towering Doctor Doom statue.
Fans have filled the gap with theories. Names floated include Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, Charlize Theron’s Clea and Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, though Olsen publicly denied involvement in March 2025. Spanish outlet 3DJuegos noted that red, the color tied to Wanda’s chaos magic, was missing from Marvel’s palette, sparking talk of a hidden fourth witch.

One rumor, attributed to scooper James Mack, claims that only 1 witch will show her face and that she is disguised as Peggy Carter. That claim remains unconfirmed, and the Russo brothers have said the film includes characters and actors that have not been announced.
Meanwhile, the footage shown in Hall H at Comic-Con already painted a menacing picture of Doom. Roughly 2 minutes of footage showed him on his throne addressing an assembled room of heroes and mutants, including Shang-Chi, Gambit, the Thunderbolts, Thor, Magneto, Professor X and Steve Rogers. Thor attacks him, and Doom blocks the blow with 2 fingers before blasting the god of thunder backward.
The same footage ended with Doom resurrecting broken Sentinels, while Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm narrates that Victor was once kind before losing everything he loved. That tragic framing gives the Latverian Witches and any Doombots an even more intriguing role as the pieces of Doom’s growing empire.
Principal photography on the film ran from April 28 to Sept. 19 of last year, with locations including Pinewood Studios, Bahrain and Windsor Great Park. If the Spain report holds up, it would mark a separate promotional shoot rather than a return to the main production.
