‘VisionQuest’ Release Schedule Revealed: Every Episode Date for Marvel’s Final ‘WandaVision’ Trilogy Chapter
Marvel’s small-screen universe has been in an odd place lately, with fewer live-action series and more questions about what comes next. ‘VisionQuest‘ arrives right in the middle of that shift. It is billed as the closing chapter of a trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along.’
The series stars Paul Bettany as Vision and brings back James Spader as Ultron for the first time in live action since ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’ Terry Matalas, who previously worked on ‘Star Trek: Picard’ and ’12 Monkeys,’ created the show. With the premiere less than a week away, fans have been tracking every detail of how the episodes will roll out.
That is where the ‘VisionQuest’ release schedule has become a hot topic. Marvel recently changed its plan, and the series will now open with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, October 14. That means viewers get a double dose of Vision before the show settles into a weekly rhythm.
Based on reporting from several outlets, the eight-episode run is set to play out like this:
- October 14: Episodes 1 and 2
- October 21: Episode 3
- October 28: Episode 4
- November 4: Episode 5
- November 11: Episode 6
- November 18: Episode 7
- November 25: Episode 8 (finale)
New episodes are listed for 12 a.m. on Wednesdays. Because of the premiere change, the finale moved up one week from its earlier expected date of December 2. A version of the schedule circulating on social media suggests additional double-episode drops and a finale on November 11, but that does not match the weekly plan reported by outlets such as Men’s Journal and The Direct.
The opening installment is a substantial one. According to the official listing for the show’s BFI debut, the two-episode premiere runs a total of 97 minutes. That makes it the longest two-episode opener yet in the Disney+ trilogy, ahead of the 71 minutes for ‘WandaVision’ and 87 minutes for ‘Agatha All Along.’
Marvel has used this format before. ‘WandaVision,’ ‘Hawkeye,’ ‘Agatha All Along’ and the first season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ all began with two-episode premieres. The approach also helps keep the finale further away from the final stretch of marketing for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ which arrives in theaters on December 18.

The trailer shows Vision on the run, with a hunter called Paladin on his trail. Vision’s programming still contains several AI personalities, including Ultron, and the pair’s relationship appears to be a central dynamic of the series. Vision also ends up traveling with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be the reincarnation of his son.
According to available information, Vision has spent years disguising himself as a human and working at a pub when the story begins. Tommy, meanwhile, grew up as an orphan on the streets of London and has survived through pickpocketing. The setup hints at a darker, more personal story than the sitcom-inspired experiments of ‘WandaVision.’
The release also carries weight beyond the story itself. ‘VisionQuest’ is the last new live-action Marvel series on the Disney+ schedule, according to Cosmic Book News. After it, the only live-action Marvel show listed is the third and final season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ in 2027.
That makes the series feel like a bookend for the streaming push that began with ‘WandaVision’ in 2021. Marvel has been scaling back its Disney+ output, which raises the stakes for how well this finale lands. Fans will be watching to see whether the show sets up anything for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ since its last episode will arrive about three weeks before the film.
With the premiere coming on October 14 and a November 25 finale, the next six weeks should keep Marvel fans busy. Weekly releases also give the community plenty of time to theorize between episodes, something ‘WandaVision’ fans will remember well.
