‘Dark Matter’ Star Jennifer Connelly (55) Stuns in a Tiny Louis Vuitton Mini and Futuristic Boots, and Paris Can’t Look Away
Jennifer Connelly has always had a knack for making understated style feel like an event. During Paris Fashion Week, the actress proved it again, turning a single Louis Vuitton outfit into one of the most talked-about celebrity looks of the season. Her Jennifer Connelly Paris Fashion Week moment arrived with a new set of photos that fans have been sharing ever since.
The shots feel like a throwback to old-school fashion editorials, set inside an ornate hotel with gilded mirrors, patterned carpets and plush furniture. They also come at a very busy time for the veteran star, who is mid-run on one of Apple TV’s biggest sci-fi series.
The new images show Connelly in a dark, embellished Louis Vuitton long-sleeve top with horizontal bands of pink and white ornament, paired with a tiny matching wrap-style miniskirt trimmed in pink. In one frame she leans against a mirrored wall in a hotel hallway, and in another she sits on a blue velvet sofa with her legs crossed. Her long, dark hair falls straight and loose with a center part.
She carried a structured lavender cylindrical handbag with short handles and a gold-tone chain. On her feet were futuristic sneaker-boot hybrids with lace-up fronts and curved metallic panels, which come from the brand’s cruise 2027 collection. The mix of sweet pink detailing, a sharp mini and high-tech footwear is exactly what made the outfit stand out.
Connelly wore the outfit to the Louis Vuitton Womenswear Spring/Summer 2027 show on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Cour Carree du Louvre. The presentation, from creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere, drew on travel, with architectural forms, draped silhouettes and graphic patterns. It closed out Paris Fashion Week.
The front row was packed with famous faces. Zendaya, Lisa, Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan, Ana de Armas, Keri Russell, Chloe Grace Moretz, Haim, Chloe Sevigny and Sophie Turner were all listed among the guests, and Connelly’s embroidered top and matching skirt with a lavender bag held its own in that crowd. Photos from her hotel suite followed in a six-photo Instagram carousel, with a caption crediting Ghesquiere.
The reaction was swift and enthusiastic. Fellow actors Elizabeth Berkley and Alyssa Milano both praised the look in the comments, and Milano said she was obsessed with the whole outfit. Fans piled on with compliments, with many calling her one of the most stunning women alive.
Some longtime followers also got nostalgic, saying she has been a celebrity crush since ‘Labyrinth’. It is a reminder of how long Connelly has held a place in pop culture, and how easily she moves between film and fashion. The fashion world seems just as fond of her as the public is.
The fashion moment overlaps with the ongoing second season of ‘Dark Matter’ on Apple TV. Connelly plays Daniela Dessen, the wife of Jason Dessen, played by Joel Edgerton. The new season premiered on Aug. 28, and new episodes arrive weekly on Fridays.
The season moves beyond Blake Crouch’s novel to explore the fallout from the Box technology unleashed in the first season. Jason’s obsession with the Box strains his family, while Daniela grows paranoid that alternate versions of her husband could appear at any time amid a multiversal conflict. The cast also includes Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley and Amanda Brugel.
The season has 10 episodes and wraps with its finale on Oct. 30, which means fans have just a few more weeks to see how Daniela’s story plays out. Beyond that, Connelly’s only other confirmed upcoming credit is an episode of the thriller series ‘Safe Houses’. That relatively light schedule makes her high-profile fashion appearances feel even more notable.
For now, the Louis Vuitton photos are doing the heavy lifting in keeping her in the spotlight. They show a star who has fully embraced the playful, forward-looking spirit of the collection, from the pink-trimmed mini to the futuristic boots. It is also a good moment to remember that her style is as much a part of her public persona as her acting.
