‘The Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney’s Pre-Anniversary Date Night Shows Their Low-Key Love Story
Few Hollywood couples have kept their relationship as quiet as Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney, which is why every Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney date night in New York gets so much attention. Their sightings are rare, relaxed and almost always happen away from the red carpet.
The pair were first linked in June 2018 and got engaged in February 2019. They married on October 19, 2019, at the historic Belcourt of Newport in Rhode Island, in front of a reported 150 guests. Adele, Emma Stone, Kris Jenner, Ashley Olsen and Cameron Diaz were among those there, and Lawrence wore Dior.
October is a loaded month for them, which makes the latest outing feel timely. The couple was out and about in New York on October 9, when they were photographed holding hands for a dinner with friends about 10 days before their anniversary.
Newly published photos show Lawrence and Maroney stepping out for dinner again on October 14, ahead of that anniversary. The pair were seen holding hands as they crossed a New York street in the evening. Maroney wore a dark double-breasted suit, while Lawrence went with a textured dark jacket and dark trousers.

This is not the only recent sighting. On October 9, the couple arrived at Balthazar for a Friday night dinner, with Maroney in a suit and tie and Lawrence in a long overcoat over a black dress. According to reports, they mingled with friends in the lobby before being shown to their table.
Earlier this year, they were also photographed on an early dinner date on April 30, when Lawrence wore a brown coat over a black dress. The couple clearly like a low-key night out, favoring dinners with friends over big events. The recurring theme is hand-holding, which has become something of a signature in these photos.
Maroney is an art gallery director and not a Hollywood figure, which has helped keep their life away from the spotlight. The couple has two sons, born in 2022 and in early 2025. Lawrence has spoken publicly about wanting to protect her family’s privacy, so photos like these remain some of the only glimpses fans get.
In 2019, Lawrence said on a podcast that she had met Maroney and knew she wanted to marry him, and that she felt honored to become a Maroney. That sentiment still seems to define how the couple presents itself years later. Their anniversary is just days away, and the outings suggest they are happy to celebrate in an understated way.
Lawrence has been busy professionally, too. Her psychological drama ‘Die, My Love,’ directed by Lynne Ramsay and co-starring Robert Pattinson, premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and earned some of the best notices of her career. She also produced it through her company, Excellent Cadaver, and reportedly filmed it while pregnant with her second child.
The film did not land an Oscar nomination, despite early buzz, and some commentators called it a snub. Even so, the role marked a major return to the spotlight after her hiatus. Reports say she has several other projects in the pipeline, including an Apple and A24 film inspired by ‘The Real Housewives,’ which she will co-produce.
For now, though, the focus is on a quiet couple heading out for dinner and celebrating another year together. Fans will likely keep an eye out for more sightings as the anniversary approaches.
