‘WandaVision’ Account Drops a Hidden Code and Asks ‘VisionQuest’ Fans: Is It Still the Same Ship?
Marvel has never been shy about turning its marketing into a puzzle, and the final chapter of the ‘WandaVision‘ trilogy is no exception. When the franchise’s central question is whether a rebuilt android is still the same person, it makes sense that the promotion would play with identity too. The latest teaser has fans reaching for their decoder rings.
The idea at the heart of the new series traces back to the ‘WandaVision’ finale. The Vision created by Wanda’s magic and White Vision, built from the remains of the original who died in ‘Infinity War,’ paused their fight to debate the Ship of Theseus. If every part of a ship is replaced, is it still the same ship, and if the discarded planks are rebuilt, which one is real?
The debate ended with Wanda’s Vision restoring White Vision’s memories. White Vision declared that he is Vision and flew away from Westview. His answer to the riddle was that both ships are the true ship, though that answer gets messy when memories themselves are the replaced parts.
Now the official ‘WandaVision’ social account has revived that exact question in a very literal way. New posts feature a hidden code tucked inside the images, along with the pointed caption “Is it still the same ship?” One image carries the line “You see an Avenger because I am Vision” against a dark backdrop, while another shows the classic red Vision bathed in crimson light.

Running along the bottom of the images is a glitchy, flickering strip of digital characters. That is the code fans are now trying to crack, and Marvel has not explained what it means. Whether it points to a future episode, a hidden message or simply an Easter egg, the posts are doing exactly what they were designed to do.
The teaser lands just days into the run of ‘VisionQuest,’ which stars Paul Bettany as White Vision across 8 episodes from showrunner Terry Matalas. The second episode is even titled “Theseus,” a direct nod to the philosophical puzzle. James Spader returns as Ultron, and Ruaridh Mollica plays Tommy Maximoff, who has his own complicated relationship with memory and identity.
The series moved up its debut with a surprise bump to Oct. 13, instead of the originally announced Oct. 14. Some fans think the date was chosen to coincide with a key event in the trilogy, though Marvel has never confirmed that. The first 2 episodes are out now, and the story picks up right where ‘WandaVision’ left off.

This is not the first time code has played a role in the marketing and the show itself. When the first trailer arrived, fans decoded text on Vision’s three-piece costume, which includes lines of code and hints at his emotional turmoil. His memories trace back to J.A.R.V.I.S., his body is a synthetic creation made by others, and his mind is mostly code.
After the premiere, an eagle-eyed fan also spotted a reference to Wanda in the code that flashes across the screen during a scene about Vision’s programming. Other viewers have pointed to an inscription reading WANDA.CREATE hidden in that same sequence. It suggests Vision still carries Wanda with him, right down to his very code.
The remaining episodes will arrive in pairs, with episodes 3 and 4 on Oct. 20 and episodes 5 and 6 on Oct. 27. The seventh episode follows on Nov. 3, and the finale, titled “Forever,” lands on Nov. 10. The final 2 installments are reportedly the longest in MCU television, running 62 and 68 minutes.
Viewers will be watching for any on-screen moment that connects to the hidden code. Marvel has a long history of rewarding fans who look closely, and posts like this tend to spark intense online detective work. Until someone cracks it, or Marvel reveals the answer, the question will keep hanging over the series.
There is also a larger context. Bettany is not listed among the official cast of ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and Vision’s participation remains unconfirmed. If the code is a clue, it could point toward whatever comes next for the character.

The posts feel less like random teasers and more like a thesis statement. ‘VisionQuest’ is asking whether this Vision is the real one, and whether being the real one even matters if he cannot live up to the original’s heroism. That tension is what makes the trilogy’s conclusion so compelling.
Fans are split on whether White Vision is still the same Vision after regaining his memories. Some believe both versions are the real Vision, while others argue that memories alone cannot recreate the original’s humanity. Either way, the conversation is exactly what Marvel wants.
Is White Vision truly the same Vision after regaining his memories?
