Madonna (68) Joins Adéla’s “Nicole Kidman” TikTok Craze in a Gold Dress
Adéla’s “Nicole Kidman” has become one of the biggest music-driven TikTok trends of the moment, with the sound reportedly reaching around 3.4 million posts. The track about feeling like a movie star has turned its namesake into an unexpected pop culture muse, and the list of famous faces joining in keeps growing.
The Slovak singer, 22, grew up in Bratislava and first drew international attention on ‘The Debut: Dream Academy’, the competition that formed the girl group Katseye. She signed with Capitol and Polydor in May and released her ‘The Provocateur’ EP in August. Her debut album, ‘Prima’, followed in September.
The song itself came out of a glamorous night. Adéla was invited to a Golden Globes event, got completely dressed up and had just watched ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ for the first time. The chorus nods to Kidman’s roles in ‘Moulin Rouge!’ and ‘Babygirl’, and the video, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, recreates moments from the actress’s career.
Kidman herself has been in on the joke. At the London premiere of ‘Practical Magic 2’ in August, she told a fan she knew exactly who Adéla was and planned to see her perform in Nashville. The actress later launched her own TikTok account using Adéla’s “Ain’t In LA” as the audio.

Now the Queen of Pop has joined the fun. On Thursday, Madonna soundtracked a new TikTok with the track, sharing a clip of herself posing in a striking gold dress while appearing to get ready for a formal event, as Billboard reported.
She didn’t bother with the dance routine, according to Perez Hilton. Instead, she gave the camera a sultry look while the song played, and she captioned the clip with a phrase lifted from the chorus. It’s a fitting nod to a song that is all about confidence and control.
Fans noticed quickly. Pop Crave’s post of the video passed 238.4K views, with around 6K likes, 549 reposts and 161 replies in the hours after it went up.
The moment carries extra weight because Adéla counts Madonna among the pop divas she admires, alongside Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, according to Shazam. Her video even riffs on a milk-licking scene that Culled Culture says Madonna kind of started with the 1989 “Express Yourself” video.
Billboard framed Madonna’s clip as another stamp of approval from an established pop star as the song continues its chart run. “Nicole Kidman” has reached the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK top 40, and it peaked at No. 23 on Shazam’s global chart. ‘Prima’ debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
AOL reported that the song also hit No. 1 on Spotify just as Kidman endorsed it during a press tour. In the video, Adéla smears cake across herself and rolls around the floor, a scene that has been widely shared.
Madonna has had a big year of her own. She released ‘Confessions II’ on July 3, her first album in seven years and a sequel to 2005’s ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’. The 16-track project was produced with Stuart Price and features collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter, Stromae, Martin Garrix, Feid and her daughter Lola Leon.
Seen in that light, the TikTok feels like a playful way for Madonna to stay plugged into the pop conversation while a new generation takes its turn. It also shows how far a viral sound can travel, from a corset-tight Golden Globes night out to a nod from the Queen of Pop.
