Halloween has turned into one of the biggest nights of the year for internet personalities, and few creators approach it with as much energy as IShowSpeed. His costume reveals tend to become events in their own right, with fans guessing for weeks about what he’ll pull off next. This year’s IShowSpeed Miles Morales look is a big swing at one of animation’s most beloved heroes.

The choice makes sense for a creator whose brand is built on motion, flips and unpredictable energy. A web-slinging teenager from Brooklyn is an easy match for that persona. It also taps into a character who has become a cultural touchstone for a whole generation of fans.

Speed shared a set of Halloween photos showing him as Miles Morales, posing on a ledge with a glittering city skyline glowing behind him. In one image, he crouches low in the classic black-and-red suit, with the spider emblem across his chest and a hooded mask with white goggle lenses. In the other, he wears the civilian version of the look, a green jacket over a red hoodie, with a red-and-white pair of high-top sneakers.

Those sneakers are a key detail. Costume guides for the character list a pair of red-and-white Air Jordan 1 sneakers alongside the hoodie, athletic shorts and a gray web belt as essential parts of Miles’ signature style. Speed’s version gets those elements right, which is likely why fans have been quick to praise the attention to detail.

The reveal didn’t come out of nowhere. Short clips on TikTok earlier in the month showed Speed announcing that he planned to dress as Miles for Halloween, and fan accounts picked up on the tease. That early hint gave fans time to build anticipation before the final photos arrived.

It also fits his pattern of treating costumes as content events rather than one-off posts. A teaser, a reveal and a full photo set give followers multiple chances to engage. The finished images feel polished, with the pose and lighting designed to echo the dramatic comic and film artwork the character is known for.

Miles Morales made his big-screen debut in 2018’s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’, with Shameik Moore voicing the character. He returned in 2023’s ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’, which left him in a major cliffhanger. The character’s red-and-black suit has since become one of the most recognizable looks in modern superhero fashion.

Retailers reflect that popularity. Spirit Halloween sells officially licensed adult and kids versions of the suit, including a skin-suit version priced at $59.99 and a muscle suit style. Costume guides also suggest Miles as a group costume idea, pairing him with other Spider-Verse characters.

Interest in the character is also being fueled by the long wait for the next film. ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ is scheduled for June 2027, with outlets listing slightly different dates in the middle and late part of the month. Sony has shown footage at CinemaCon that includes Miles facing off against another version of himself, and Jharrel Jerome is set to play the Prowler version of Miles from Earth-42.

The voice cast also includes Moore, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. Meanwhile, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has said that a live-action Miles Morales will arrive in the MCU after the animated trilogy wraps. That timeline gives fans plenty to speculate about, and a high-profile Halloween costume only adds to the buzz.

Online reaction has been enthusiastic, with the photos pulling in massive engagement across social media. Many commenters have praised the look’s accuracy and the cinematic feel of the rooftop setting. Others have joked that the costume fits Speed’s real-life athleticism, since flips and acrobatics are a signature part of his content.

The costume also lands during a Halloween season already crowded with notable celebrity and creator looks. Standing out in that environment takes more than a mask, and Speed’s decision to build a full photo set around the suit seems to have worked. It’s the sort of tribute that feels like genuine fandom rather than a quick costume swap.

For fans of the character, the best part may be how the look captures Miles’ personality. The crouch, the sneakers and the casual jacket all speak to a teenager who is still figuring out who he wants to be. That spirit is a big part of why audiences connected with ‘Spider-Verse’ in the first place.

Whether or not Speed ever crosses paths with the franchise, the costume works as a celebration of it. And with a new movie on the way, there will be plenty more chances for fans to dress up as Miles in the months ahead.

Which superhero should IShowSpeed dress up as next Halloween?
