‘A Love Other Than Yours’ Episode 14 Finale Ending Explained: Why Mi-do and Ho’s Story Closes on Spring, Not Snow
Few K-dramas have poked at one question as stubbornly as ‘A Love Other Than Yours‘: is staying together still a choice, or just what a decade of habit looks like? The KBS2 romance, which streams on Prime Video outside Korea, follows Namgung Ho (Seo Kang-joon) and film director Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin), who have been a couple for 10 years. The ‘A Love Other Than Yours’ finale ending finally answers that question, though not in the tidy way some viewers wanted.
The series premiered on September 12, written by Yoo Su-ji and directed by Hwang Seung-ki and Lee Ga-ram. It pushed Ho and Mi-do toward new people, lawyer Han Tae-seung (Lee Joo-ahn) and coworker Park Su-a (Jo A-ram), just as marriage seemed like the obvious next step. Ratings never took off, opening at 2.6% and sliding to an all-time low of 1.6% right before the finale, yet the drama kept fans arguing week after week.
The road to the finale was built on an experiment. Around the midpoint, Mi-do proposed that she date Tae-seung for a month while Ho did the same with Su-a, a one-month dating pact meant to test whether their love was real. By the second-to-last chapter, that pact had unraveled into a breakup between Mi-do and Tae-seung, and Mi-do turned up on a beach to tell Ho she had come after ending things with him.
The finale preview added one more twist of the knife. It teased Ho telling Su-a that, had they met as ordinary people under different circumstances, their story might have ended differently.
The final episode opens inside a church, where Ho and Mi-do sit down together and decide to end their arrangement and part ways. It is a hushed farewell for a couple who have shared most of their lives, and it sets the tone for everything that follows.
Then the story jumps ahead 2 years. Mi-do is now a lecturer, and when she runs into Tae-seung, the two share a kiss. Ho, meanwhile, crosses paths with Su-a again and kisses her too.
Before the leads fully drift apart, Ho takes Mi-do to the beach for one last meeting. He tells her they will not see each other again, which makes the parting bittersweet rather than bitter. All four characters then appear to move forward on their own.
The closing moments belong to Mi-do. She finds Ho’s old sketchbook, filled with drawings of her from their school days. Over those images, her voiceover says they should now wait not for the first snow, but for spring.
That line carries weight because the first snow has been the couple’s anniversary all along. As early as the fourth episode, the first snow of the season is established as the day Ho and Mi-do celebrate each year. Swapping it for spring reads as a deliberate break from the old ritual, a move from a date built around the past to a season that has not arrived yet.
So who ends up with whom? The finale never says outright. Ho is not shown choosing Mi-do or Su-a, and viewers are left to weigh the sketchbook and the spring line for themselves.
That ambiguity is typical of romantic melodramas, and the two kisses complicate any neat reading. Both Mi-do and Ho seem to have found real connections with other people, even as the sketchbook tugs the story back toward their shared history.

The ending lands in a drama that was already polarizing. On MyDramaList, the series sits at 7.1 out of 10 from more than 2,600 users, even as its television numbers sank. Its messy, emotionally tangled love lines kept the conversation going right up to the end.
The cast said their goodbyes ahead of the finale. Lee Joo-ahn revealed he could not understand Tae-seung at first but gradually began rooting for him, while Jo A-ram told Soompi she would “keep and cherish the emotions and lessons I gained” from the drama and her character.
After that emotional finale and Mi-do’s spring voiceover, who do you think is Ho’s true endgame?
