Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos Tease Major ‘Ironheart’ Villain Cameo, And All Signs Point to You Know Who
The new Marvel series Ironheart just dropped its first three episodes, and fans have mixed feelings about it. The story follows Riri Williams, who finds herself kicked out of MIT after breaking rules to support her tech projects. Left with few options, she soon crosses paths with a dangerous figure known as The Hood.
The Hood runs a gang that targets corrupt wealthy people by using blackmail. But what sets him apart is his magical cloak, which lets him bend the laws of physics, making him invisible and able to do things that don’t seem possible in the real world.
Fans of the comics know that The Hood’s powers come from a dark deal, he sold his soul to gain them. The show hasn’t said this outright, but many clues point in that direction.
Recently, Dominique Thorne (who plays Riri) and Anthony Ramos (playing The Hood) talked with Entertainment Tonight about a surprising cameo in Ironheart. Although they didn’t say the person’s name, it’s clear the character is very powerful and a major villain. When asked if this would be the character’s last appearance, Thorne said, “I don’t think so. I hope not. I hope it’s not the last time that we see him. But I do think it’s the best boost of encouragement that you can get, when I did learn that he would be introduced in Ironheart.”
She also added, “Because of course we know how much the fans, and how long the fans, have been waiting for that. For it to be in this show that they get him, let’s go.” Ramos also praised the actor playing the role, saying, “He’s one of the elite actors of our time too.”
Most fans believe they are referring to Mephisto, the demon-like character who has been long rumored to join the MCU. Reports from 2022 revealed that actor Sacha Baron Cohen joined the Marvel universe and might play Mephisto, starting with Ironheart and possibly appearing in other Marvel projects.
Fans have waited a long time for Mephisto to show up. He was expected in WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Agatha All Along, but never appeared. This time, though, it feels different. In the comics, The Hood gets his powers directly from Mephisto, and Ironheart has been rumored to blend dark magic with technology.
People also might have forgotten that Cohen’s casting in Ironheart was confirmed long ago. Alongside him, the show brought in many new cast members between August and October 2022, such as Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, and Cree Summer. Jim Rash also returns as the MIT dean, a role he played in Captain America: Civil War.
If Mephisto really is joining the MCU through Ironheart, it could mark a big shift toward more magic and supernatural stories in the coming years. Marvel fans are excited to see how this dark magic will mix with the world of tech and heroes.
In my opinion, bringing Mephisto into Ironheart is a bold and interesting choice. It ties the show to larger MCU themes and adds a new layer of depth to Riri’s story. It’s exciting to see Marvel explore the blend of science and magic more deeply.
