First Teaser for Edgar Wright’s ‘The Running Man’ Released — Glen Powell Stars, Full Trailer Drops Tomorrow
The first teaser for The Running Man is here, and it’s already got people talking. The film stars Glen Powell and is directed by Edgar Wright, who also helped write the script. The movie is based on the 1982 book by Stephen King, published under the name Richard Bachman.
Unlike the 1987 version with Arnold Schwarzenegger, this one aims to follow the original story more closely.
The short teaser gives a fast glimpse of the style and mood Edgar Wright is going for. It looks gritty and packed with action. The full trailer is dropping tomorrow, so fans won’t have to wait long for a better look.
The story takes place in a future where people compete on a violent game show. Contestants are hunted across the world, and if they survive, they win prize money.
Glen Powell plays the lead, Ben Richards, a man who ends up on the show. Other cast members include Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, and William H. Macy. Josh Brolin plays the show’s producer, and Colman Domingo appears as the host. The movie has a big cast and a lot of energy behind it.

Filming started in the UK in November 2024 and wrapped up in March 2025. Some major scenes were shot at Wembley Stadium. The film is being made by Paramount Pictures and is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025, the same day as Predator: Badlands.
Wright co-wrote the movie with Michael Bacall. Paramount says this version is not a remake of the older movie but something different. “It’s a much more faithful version of King’s original story,” they explained.
Edgar Wright has been wanting to make this movie for years. He posted about it back in 2017, saying he wanted to remake The Running Man. Now, it’s finally happening. The movie was financed by Domain Entertainment, with producers Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, and Nira Park also on board.
Even though the teaser is short, it already shows off Wright’s signature style and energy. A full trailer is coming tomorrow, and it looks like this movie could be one of the big ones to watch this year.
The Running Man arrives in theaters on November 7, 2025. Keep an eye out for the trailer, it’s almost here.
