Miles Morales has become a huge hit with fans, especially because of the popular animated Spider-Verse movies.

Right now, the third Spider-Verse film is being made, and many fans are eager to see Miles show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as a live-action character.

At Brazil’s D23 event, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige gave fans a little hope by saying, “He’ll be in the third ‘Spider-Verse’, and I’m hoping that shortly after that, we can introduce him to the MCU in a live-action format.” This made many people think Miles would soon swing into the live-action world alongside other MCU heroes.

But recently, Feige spoke more clearly about the situation during a press event for the new movie Fantastic Four: First Steps. He said that, for now, Miles Morales won’t be joining the MCU.

Since Sony Pictures owns the film rights to Miles, Feige explained, “We’ve been told to stay away” until the animated trilogy finishes with the 2027 movie Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. He was very straightforward, saying, “That is nowhere.”

“That is nowhere. Until Sony Pictures (which holds the film rights to the character) completes its animated Miles trilogy with 2027’s ‘SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE’ we’ve been told to stay away.”

Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in the MCU, has expressed excitement about the idea of teaming up with Miles. Holland said he’d love to guide the younger Spider-Man like Robert Downey Jr. guided him. But it looks like fans will have to wait a while before that happens on screen.

So, even though fans are eager to see Miles Morales join the live-action MCU, Kevin Feige made it clear that it’s not happening anytime soon. The rights and timing are all factors keeping Miles in the animated world for now.
