The first trailer for Eenie Meanie has arrived, giving a high-energy look at Samara Weaving in her latest action-packed role. The film, written and directed by Shawn Simmons in his feature debut, will stream on Hulu starting August 22, 2025.

The story follows Edie, a former teenage getaway driver who has worked hard to leave her criminal past behind. Her quiet life is interrupted when a former employer offers her a risky deal, a job that could save the life of her unreliable ex-boyfriend. With little choice, she’s pulled back into the dangerous world she thought she’d escaped.

Weaving is joined by a strong ensemble cast including Karl Glusman, Jermaine Fowler, Marshawn Lynch, Randall Park, Steve Zahn, and Andy Garcia. Elle Graham appears as a younger version of Edie.

Production began in April 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio, under the working title Stickshift. Filming also took place in Lakewood and Toledo, with the Hollywood Casino serving as one of the main locations. Shooting wrapped at the end of June 2024.

The movie has been in development since 2021, when 20th Century Studios picked up Simmons’ untitled thriller script. The official title and cast were confirmed in 2023, with Weaving attached from the start.

With car chases, tense stand-offs, and a lead character with something to prove, Eenie Meanie is shaping up to be a high-octane summer thriller. The trailer hints at plenty of fast-paced action and dangerous twists that could make it one of next year’s standout streaming releases.
