The look doesn’t really reveal much. But it’s something right?
Brand New Day is the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man saga. The film is co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, with Sony Pictures handling distribution. It marks the 38th MCU film and the fourth Spider-Man solo movie following 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
This time, the film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with a script from Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the same writing duo behind the last two Holland-led Spidey adventures.
The cast sees Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker, joined once again by Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. New faces include Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher. Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased that Bernthal’s Punisher will feel “different” compared to his earlier, grittier portrayals. Charlie Cox is also expected to be back as Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil.
The movie picks up after the events of No Way Home, where Doctor Strange’s spell made the world forget Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Now living under the radar, Peter is back to protecting New York City from street-level criminals while trying to find his place in the world again.
Production on the film began today, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the working title Blue Oasis. According to reports from the Glasgow Times, several streets in the city center, including Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, were transformed into New York City for filming.
Tom Holland reportedly enjoyed starting the shoot on location, saying it reminded him of Homecoming, which also featured plenty of real-world city scenes. Soundstage filming is set to continue at Pinewood Studios in England.
Producer Amy Pascal has already said this movie is just the start of a brand-new trilogy for Holland’s Spider-Man. Filming is expected to wrap later this year, with the movie swinging into theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Marvel’s Phase Six.
