Even though Star Wars: The Acolyte didn’t land the way Disney had hoped, one thing fans seem to agree on is how much they liked the character Qimir. Played by Manny Jacinto, Qimir was one of the few bright spots in a show that struggled to find its footing.

After just eight episodes, Disney canceled The Acolyte, and honestly, no one was shocked. The show was expensive, the story didn’t make much sense, the acting was uneven, and the pacing was all over the place.

But Qimir stood out. Introduced early on as Mae’s strange and clumsy friend, it was clear from the beginning that he had a bigger role to play. It turned out he was actually a Sith in training, and once that was revealed, he stole the show.

Fans were especially drawn to Qimir’s brutal fight on Khofar, where he took down nearly all the Jedi trying to stop him. He also brought some fresh elements to live-action Star Wars, including a unique helmet made of cortosis, a material that came from the old Expanded Universe stories.

On top of that, the show hinted that Qimir might’ve been trained by Darth Plagueis, the Sith Lord who eventually taught Palpatine. That teaser alone had people asking for more.

Recently, in an interview with ComicBook during the press tour for Freaky Friday 2, Jacinto said he’s totally open to returning. “I would love to,” he said when asked if he’d play Qimir again. “I would love to run it back. I love that character, that franchise, that team.” He added, “We’ll put it out there. Star Wars is a big universe, galaxy, what have you. But if the fans want it, I’m down and ready to go.”

As of now, there’s no sign that The Acolyte will get a second season or spin-off. But Disney has already started exploring that corner of the Star Wars galaxy through new novels. Whether Qimir makes another appearance on screen is still up in the air. For now, fans can only hope.
