Brad Pitt Moves Homes After Terrifying Break-In, Paranoia Taking Its Toll as the Actor Now Wants to Live in a Fortress
Brad Pitt is reportedly taking no chances after a frightening break-in at his Los Feliz home earlier this year. The actor, has purchased a new Spanish-style mansion in the Hollywood Hills, and sources say he plans to turn it into a fortress with top-of-the-line security measures.
RadarOnline reports that the move comes after three masked burglars raided his old house in June, leaving Pitt on edge.
The Los Feliz home, which Pitt bought in 2023 for $5.5 million, was broken into when the thieves jumped over the fence, smashed a window, and stole property from inside. Luckily, Pitt was not home during the incident.
Police later arrested four suspects: two 18-year-olds, a 17-year-old, and a 16-year-old. Authorities noted that the teens had also been involved in burglaries at the homes of other celebrities, including Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, and LA Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Surveillance footage and fingerprints helped law enforcement identify and apprehend the suspects, NBC LA reported.
A close friend of Pitt told RadarOnline that the break-in has made him unusually cautious. “Brad’s never been one to worry, but now even he’s talking about fortifying his walls,” the source said. Another friend added, “He’s paranoid – every door, every window is suddenly a potential threat. He’s going to be turning the new home into something near impenetrable.”
The new mansion, purchased from Dave Keuning of the band The Killers and his wife Emilie, cost Pitt $12 million. The deal closed on August 5, the same day Pitt’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt, passed away at the age of 84.
Originally listed at nearly $14 million, the actor was able to secure it for a lower price, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Hollywood Hills home is spacious, with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 8,385 square feet of living space, featuring stunning views of downtown Los Angeles.
Sources say Pitt isn’t just buying a home; he’s buying security. “He’s going to be installing a panic room and round-the-clock security measures in his new place, including a watchtower and anti-drone tech,” one insider told RadarOnline. The Spanish-style mansion will be equipped with multiple layers of protection to ensure that Pitt feels safe in his new residence.
The break-in appears to have left a lasting impact on Pitt, who has always valued his privacy.
While he has lived in multiple high-profile homes throughout his career, this incident seems to have heightened his sense of vulnerability. The source added that Pitt’s ex, Jennifer Aniston, faced similar fear after a stalker incident, which demonstrates how even celebrities with experience in the spotlight can feel shaken by threats to their safety.
With the Hollywood Hills property, Pitt aims to create a secure and private retreat where he can live comfortably without worrying about intrusions. Between the panic room, anti-drone technology, and tight security perimeters, the new mansion is shaping up to be a fortified sanctuary.
