Brad Pitt Returns as Cliff Booth: New Look from ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2’ Set

Brad Pitt is back as Cliff Booth, and fans finally got a fresh look at him on the set of the new sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The movie, now titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is being directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino. The story happens in 1977, about eight years after the first movie.

The movie has a strong cast, including Scott Caan, Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, JB Tadena, and Corey Fogelmanis. The photos don’t give away the story, but they do show the stylish vibe fans expect from a Tarantino movie.

The plot follows Cliff Booth as he moves into a new part of his life, working as a Hollywood fixer and solving problems behind the scenes on big film sets. This sequel has been in the works for a while. Back in 2021, Tarantino said he wanted to explore Cliff’s time in a World War II POW camp, saying, “Someday I’ll do his adventure in the POW camp.” That idea eventually evolved into this new story.

Earlier in 2024, Tarantino was working on a different project called The Movie Critic. That script eventually became the next chapter in Cliff Booth’s story. According to Deadline and other news sources, Netflix bought the script and brought David Fincher on to direct. Pitt is confirmed to return as Cliff, and there have been rumors that Leonardo DiCaprio might come back as Rick Dalton, but nothing official has been announced yet.

The cast started coming together by mid-2025, with Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan joining first. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, and Holt McCallany joined in June, and JB Tadena and Corey Fogelmanis were added later. The movie’s title was shortened from The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth to The Adventures of Cliff Booth.

Filming started on July 28, 2025, in California and is expected to wrap up by early 2026. With Fincher directing and Tarantino writing, fans are excited for the movie. While there’s still a lot we don’t know about the story, the first-look photos and talented cast make it clear that Cliff Booth’s adventure is far from over.
