The first trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey has officially arrived, giving fans a glimpse of Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell in what looks like one of the most unique romantic fantasy films of 2025.

Directed by Kogonada and written by Seth Reiss, the movie follows two strangers whose lives collide in unexpected ways, taking them on a surreal journey that changes everything. The film is set to hit theaters in the United States and Canada on September 19, 2025.

Robbie plays Sarah while Farrell takes on the role of David, with Kevin Kline and Phoebe Waller-Bridge also part of the main cast.

The lineup continues with Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Gadon, Brandon Perea, Chloe East, Hamish Linklater, Lucy Thomas, Yuvi Hecht, Calahan Skogman, Jacqueline Novak, Jennifer Grant, and Shelby Simmons.

The film first made waves back in 2020 when Reiss’s script appeared on the annual Black List, highlighting the best unproduced screenplays. By February 2024, Kogonada was officially attached as director, with Robbie and Farrell in talks to lead.

Later that month, Deadline reported that Sony closed a deal worth around $50 million at the European Film Market, calling the project “one of the market’s hottest scripts.”

Production began in April 2024 in California, with Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Waller-Bridge, and newcomer Lucy Thomas joining the cast. A month later, the rest of the ensemble came together, rounding out what has become one of the most star-studded lineups of the year.

Originally set for release in May 2025, the movie’s debut was pushed back to September 19, 2025. Now, with the trailer out, excitement is only growing for what looks to be a visually rich and emotional story about love, fate, and the unexpected turns life can take.
