A New Troll Rises: Watch Netflix’s Fresh Trailer for ‘Troll 2’
The highly anticipated Norwegian monster film Troll 2 is set to hit Netflix on December 1. Directed by Roar Uthaug, the movie is a sequel to Troll and has already gained attention for being the largest film production ever in the Nordic countries.
Troll 2 was filmed in several locations, including Trondheim, Maridalen, Jotunheimen, and Budapest.

According to screenwriter Espen Aukan, the Budapest shoot was necessary because they had trouble finding suitable locations in Norway. Aukan also helped write the film, while producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud from Motion Blur managed the production.
The film stars Ine Marie Wilmann as Nora, Kim S. Falck-Jørgensen as Andreas Isaksen, and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen as Captain Kristoffer “Kris” Holm. The cast also includes Sara Khorami, Jon Ketil Johnsen, Gard B. Eidsvold, Aksel Almaas, and Trond Magnum.
Netflix released the first trailer for the film in June, giving fans their first full look at the terrifying creatures and intense action. The first promotional clip had appeared earlier in 2025, building anticipation for the full release later this year.
With its mix of Nordic landscapes and international locations, Troll 2 promises to be a thrilling follow-up to the original. Fans of monster films are already excited to see how Uthaug continues the story.
