A24 Drops Chilling First Trailer for Horror Film ‘Undertone’ About a Podcast Host and Her Dying Mother

A24 has released the first trailer for its upcoming horror movie Undertone, giving fans an early look at a quiet but unsettling story driven by sound and isolation. The film is set to arrive next year and already has strong buzz among horror fans.

Undertone is a Canadian horror movie written and directed by Ian Tuason. This is his first time directing a feature film. The story centers on a woman named Evy, played by Nina Kiri. Evy runs a paranormal podcast with her friend Justin, voiced by Kris Holden-Ried. The two have very different views. Evy does not believe in the supernatural, while Justin does.

Evy’s life changes when she moves back home to take care of her dying mother, played by Michèle Duquet. One of the most unusual parts of Undertone is how it is filmed. Evy is the only character who ever appears on screen. Every other character is heard only through voices, phone calls, or recordings.
