Aaron Paul, known for his iconic role in Breaking Bad, has announced he will not be returning as the villain Powerplex in the upcoming fourth season of Invincible on Amazon Prime Video.

The news came during a recent interview with “Kinda Funny Gamescast,” where Paul explained his reasons for stepping away from the popular animated series.

“They asked me to come back for the next season, and I love the series and I’m such a fan of it, but it’s way too gruelling on my psyche. It was just so much, I have so much respect for what they’re doing, but Powerplex man…” Paul said.

He went on to detail the emotional toll of voicing the character, who faces intense personal struggles in the story.

“Powerplex isn’t just messing around, he’s going through turmoil, and how I approach everything, I really put myself in that skin. It was a skin I didn’t feel comfortable in to be honest. I didn’t want to do it anymore. I love you guys, I really do, but the thing is, everyone involved in the show is amazing, but what it did to me, I didn’t like. I couldn’t continue.”

While other cast members such as Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, and Gillian Jacobs are set to return, Amazon has not yet announced who will take over the role of Powerplex. Fans of the comic series know the villain is expected to appear again, though it remains unclear how the show will handle his return without Paul.

The fourth season of Invincible is highly anticipated, promising more of the intense action and emotional storylines that fans loved in previous seasons. Although Powerplex’s storyline will continue, Paul’s departure may mark a significant change in how the character is portrayed moving forward.
