‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ may not be finished just yet. After becoming one of the biggest drama hits of 2026, the SBS series has started early conversations about a possible second season.

According to Korean entertainment outlet OSEN, discussions for Season 2 have already begun following the conclusion of the first season. However, the production team has not announced a confirmed schedule or official production timeline yet.

The drama quickly became a major success after its premiere. ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ opened with a strong 9.5% viewership rating for its first episode and continued growing week after week. By its fourth episode, the series passed the 20% mark with a 21.6% rating.

The popularity continued throughout the rest of the season. The show stayed above 20% viewership for seven straight episodes before ending its 10-episode run with a nationwide rating of 23.0%, according to Nielsen Korea. The highest recorded viewership peak reached 27.1%.

Because of its strong performance and loyal audience, fans quickly began wondering whether the drama would continue with another season. The possibility became even more interesting after lead actor So Ji-sub shared his interest in working on a season-based drama format during SBS Drama Media Day. According to OSEN, the actor previously said that having a drama continue with multiple seasons was something he wanted more than receiving acting awards.

The first season focused on the story of Kim, an ordinary father who becomes a dangerous force while fighting to protect his daughter. The series mixed revenge, action, and family themes while showing different sides of fatherhood through its main characters.

The finale also left room for a possible continuation. After taking down Joo Hak Construction, led by Joo Sang-wook’s character, Kim was shown starting a new chapter by joining Baekho Employment Agency. The introduction of a new character, Lee Do-gyu, also created speculation that a second season could expand the story around Kim and the people connected to the agency.

A representative from the production team confirmed that talks are moving in a positive direction but explained that more details still need to be decided.

“Thanks to your immense love and support, we are currently discussing Season 2 of ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ positively. However, as Season 1 has just wrapped up, we kindly ask for your understanding as the detailed schedule is yet to be determined. We will share updates as soon as they are confirmed,” the representative said.

SBS has become known for creating successful dramas that continue through multiple seasons, and ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ could become another title to follow that path. While fans may have to wait for more official news, the early discussions suggest that the story of Kim and his new mission may not be over.

For now, the first season has ended after building a strong audience and earning attention as one of the standout Korean dramas of the year. If Season 2 moves forward, viewers will be watching closely to see how the next chapter develops.
