Aimee Lou Wood Brings Bold Glamour to the BAFTAs Red Carpet
Aimee Lou Wood had one of the most talked-about moments of the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, and it did not even happen on the red carpet.
After the ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall, the actress was seen walking barefoot through the venue, holding her silver high heels in one hand while carrying her phone and a bottle of water in the other. Photos from the night quickly spread online through entertainment outlets and social media accounts covering the BAFTAs. Fans loved the relaxed moment.
Wood, 32, still wore her pale pink floral gown as she made her way to a dinner inside the venue. She later joined fellow stars including Kate Hudson and Emma Stone. She was seated next to her boyfriend, Adam Long, who has been by her side throughout this year’s awards season.

Many fans said the barefoot walk made her even more relatable. While most stars carefully protect their glamorous image, Wood seemed comfortable and unfazed. The moment matched the personality she has shown since her breakout role in Sex Education.

Her career is now at a high point. She recently appeared in season three of The White Lotus on HBO. The show is set in Thailand, and she plays Chelsea, a free-spirited woman from Manchester traveling with an older boyfriend, played by Walton Goggins. Her performance has earned strong reviews and awards attention, including a Golden Globe nomination earlier this year.

Speaking about her character, Wood explained how she connected to Chelsea’s mindset. She said, Chelsea doesn’t care, I can’t care. That attitude, she shared, helped her handle the pressure of filming in Koh Samui.
Outside of acting, Wood has also taken on more creative control. According to BBC press materials, she co-created and co-wrote the comedy-drama Film Club. She stars in the series alongside Suranne Jones, Nabhaan Rizwan, and Adam Long. The show focuses on friendship and mental health and has been well received by viewers.
Looking ahead, Wood has several new projects in development. She is set to play Pattie Boyd in an upcoming biographical film about the woman who inspired both George Harrison and Eric Clapton. She is also attached to indie films including The Idiots and a new adaptation of Anxious People.
Despite growing fame, Wood has often said she prefers staying in the UK instead of moving to Hollywood full-time. Her relaxed walk across the BAFTA venue seemed to reflect that choice. She can attend major global events, sit next to Hollywood stars, and still kick off her shoes at the end of the night.
That balance is part of what makes her stand out. She is talented, busy, and clearly ambitious, but she still feels real. What do you think about her barefoot BAFTA moment and her performance in The White Lotus? Share your thoughts in the comments.
