Leslie Grossman joined the ensemble of the FX anthology series ‘American Horror Story‘ during its seventh season and has since appeared in six installments of the franchise. Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the horror property features recurring cast members who take on new personas across different narrative settings and time periods.

Throughout her tenure on the program, Grossman has portrayed historical figures, satirical socialites, camp counselors, and supernatural beings. Her performances span numerous thematic storylines, from the political turmoil of ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ to the isolated wilderness of ‘American Horror Story: 1984’.

Patricia Krenwinkel

The FX

In ‘American Horror Story: Cult’, Leslie Grossman portrays real-life Manson Family follower Patricia Krenwinkel during a historical flashback sequence. The scene dramatizes the 1969 Tate murders, depicting Krenwinkel as an obedient disciple carrying out violent instructions issued by cult leader Charles Manson. Krenwinkel participates in the home invasion alongside fellow followers Tex Watson and Susan Atkins, actively taking part in the fatal attack on Abigail Folger. Cult leader Kai Anderson recounts this historical incident to indoctrinate his followers, utilizing Krenwinkel’s compliance as a template for unquestioning loyalty. Grossman’s appearance as Krenwinkel establishes a direct thematic bridge between real-world twentieth-century violence and the fictional political manipulation central to the season.

Calico

The FX

In the ‘Death Valley’ segment of ‘American Horror Story: Double Feature’, Leslie Grossman plays Calico, a former Las Vegas showgirl held captive at Area 51. After being abducted by extraterrestrials during the twentieth century, Calico undergoes procedures that halt her physical aging while requiring her to repeatedly carry alien-human hybrid fetuses. Following decades of confinement inside the clandestine military installation, she resigns herself to her circumstances and serves as an informal mentor to newly captured humans. Rather than continuing to resist her extraterrestrial captors, Calico prioritizes personal survival and accepts the assignment of raising the final perfected hybrid infant destined to replace the human race.

Barbara Read

The FX

Appearing in ‘American Horror Story: NYC’, Barbara Read is the former spouse of closeted NYPD detective Patrick Read. While working in footwear sales at Bloomingdale’s, Barbara attempts to adjust to life following her divorce while remaining unsettled by the unresolved secrets of her past marriage. Her personal investigation uncovers a hidden box containing leather fetish gear, revealing Patrick’s hidden connections to the city’s underground gay scene. Barbara’s arc reaches a fatal conclusion when the masked pursuer known as Big Daddy enters her apartment and asphyxiates her. Her spirit reappears in a surreal sequence during the season finale to guide Patrick through a metaphorical hospital hallway as he faces his own mortality.

Ursula Khan

The FX

In the ‘Red Tide’ narrative of ‘American Horror Story: Double Feature’, Leslie Grossman plays Ursula Khan, a ruthlessly pragmatic Hollywood literary agent. Upon traveling to Provincetown, Massachusetts, to investigate client Harry Gardner’s sudden surge in productivity, Ursula discovers the Chemist’s black pills that grant artistic genius at the cost of vampiric blood cravings. Unperturbed by the lethal consequences of the drug, Ursula orchestrates a business partnership with the Chemist to commercialize and distribute the substance to ambitious creators. She coordinates with Harry’s prodigy daughter Alma to eliminate non-compliant competitors and maximize profit from the family’s artistic output. The storyline concludes with Ursula bringing the pills to Southern California to build an empire of elite clientele, triggering mass violence across Los Angeles.

Meadow Wilton

The FX

Leslie Grossman made her series debut as Meadow Wilton, an idiosyncratic and deeply insecure suburbanite in ‘American Horror Story: Cult’. Bound in a lavender marriage to her platonic friend Harrison, Meadow longs for romantic affection and emotional security, leaving her susceptible to the charismatic influence of Kai Anderson. Kai preys upon her emotional vulnerability by simulating romantic interest, ultimately convincing her to stage a fake kidnapping to implicate neighbor Ally Mayfair-Richards. Thoroughly radicalized by the cult’s dogma, Meadow opens fire on the crowd at a televised political rally to frame Kai as a heroic, wounded survivor before taking her own life. Her staged assault serves as the primary turning point that propels Kai into the political spotlight, illustrating the season’s focus on suburban extremism.

Margaret Booth

The FX

In ‘American Horror Story: 1984’, Leslie Grossman portrays central antagonist Margaret Booth, introduced as the devout and seemingly pious owner of Camp Redwood. Although Margaret claims to be the lone survivor of a 1970 summer camp massacre, a mid-season revelation discloses that she was the actual perpetrator who framed Benjamin Richter for the murders. Over the following decade, Margaret expands her financial holdings into a vast corporate and real estate portfolio by exploiting tragedies and acquiring infamous murder sites. She reopens Camp Redwood to stage a high-profile music festival, plotting additional fatalities to generate national publicity and elevate the venue’s notoriety. Her scheme concludes violently when the vengeful spirits of her former victims dismember her, permanently trapping her ghost within the camp boundaries.

Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt

The FX

Introduced in ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’, Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt is an eccentric billionaire heiress who secures passage into the subterranean bunker Outpost 3 before nuclear missiles strike. Following the collapse of the outpost’s order, Coco is revealed to be a witch whose memory and true identity were suppressed by Supreme Witch Cordelia Goode using an identity spell. While her latent magical gifts initially seem limited to sensing gluten and calculating caloric content, she subsequently develops the psychic ability to detect imminent danger. During the climactic confrontation with the Antichrist, Michael Langdon, Coco distracts him in combat, sacrificing herself so that Mallory can complete the temporal spell that undoes the apocalypse. After the timeline is successfully reset to 2015, Coco enters Miss Robichaux’s Academy as a recognized witch under Cordelia’s guidance.
